Gossip Girl Roundup

It's been awhile, here's a quick character/plot update:

Jenny: got a terrible terrible make-over type thing. Mullet-y hair, racoon eyes and a sudden affinity for leather biker jackets and dancing in her underwear. Also for staging "guerilla" fashion shows with her bff model agnes (who doesnt really seem that tall or modell-y to me) at Lily's charity event. Rufus subsequently flips out at this (although Lily surprisingly liked it- how?) and she then runs away from home. Cliffhanger- where is she going, do we care?

Nate: moved in the with the Humphreys and developed a sudden affinity for Jenny, out of nowhere. They proceeded to make out twice, which kind of creeps everyone out since in real life he's 8 years older than her (she's 15).

Dan: Still annoying, still trying to be "friends" with Serena. Bromance with Nate suffers a setback when he finds out he's macking on his little sis and he's not happy about it. Also tries to give Blair advice about Chuck but it blows up in their faces.

Serena: also still kinda annoying and also still dressing REALLY slutty. what is up with that? Anyway she met a cutish/wannabe hipster guy at Rufus's gallery and apparently went to camp with him years ago. he asked her out but she keeps getting disheartened by the seeming flock of girlfriends/friends/lovers.

Blair: still awesome. her and Chuck realized they like the game too much to become a "couple" (why they can't still be doing it is a mystery to me). Blair is also still trying to get into Yale, and gets tricked by Serena into babysitting the deans friends daughter. Hijinx ensue when the girl runs away to "cash in her v-card" as gossip girl is apt to say. in the end Blair gets in the good graces of the deans friend and is seemingly in at Yale.

Vanessa: still hate her. she gets upset seeing Jenny and Nate together (understandable i guess) but is still REALLY annoying.

Gossip Girl: The College Years

This week the whole gang goes to Yale (apparently its become all of their dreams) set up for the future of the show? Who knows. Anyway. Serena is all miss-socialite-party-girl now (apparently, as we haven't really seen any of it, lame) and is on page 6. She was planning on going to check out Brown for the weekend (shoutout to RI), but when Blair tells her she's not that smart and probably couldn't get into Yale anyway, she decides to check it out (especially since she got a hand written invitation from the dean (who does that?)
Meanwhile, on the boring little J front, she is trying to convince her dad to homeschool her a la annoying Vanessa. Rufus is all I think you should go to school Jenny (duh) and she's like, come with me to work for a day and then after tell me what you think and I'll listen.
Back at Yale, Nate is chatting up some collegiate girl when she starts talking about how Nate Archibald is on campus and all this crap about his father (who really cares) and Nate gets freaked out and tells them all his name is Dan Humphrey. Yeah I can see this ending well. Cut to Nate and college girl making out in her room. Was it the old, let me give you a tour of a real college dorm room... I highly doubt a chick in college would hook up with a high schooler visiting, but c'est la vie. I guess Nate is pretty hot when you don't know him so well.
Blair is having her interview with the dean, and she is stumbling majorly. He asks her what there is to her besides what's in her essay and she can't come up with much. The deans like there was this lovely girl before you who was just in a fashion show for fun (true Yale material). Blair's like, I'm more traditional (i.e. boring) and the dean is not impressed. She starts blabbing about how shes not charming and friendly (like Serena) and everything is in her essay. Uh oh. As she's leaving she kisses the dean on the cheek awkwardly and runs away. Double uh oh.
Ok, also- I must comment on Serena's wardrobe choices for her interview. She is wearing a ridic low cut shirt and looks pretty slutty. The whole episode she dresses like a ho- is this part of her new "shining" personality?
Anyway Chuck is chilling on the campus when some dudes come and kidnap him. He's thrilled cause its the Yale secret society thing and he's always wanted to join. They tell him he needs to prove his loyalty, so first he hooks them up a bunch of strippers (prostitutes?), which is all well and good, but they want more. What is it they want? The one and only Nate Archibald (big man on campus eh?) Apparently the head dude's family lost their Newport home cause of Nate's evil dad (how, no idea). So to prove his loyalty to them, Chuck must get Nate and bring him to them.
Over in CC (college chick) dorm, they are still going at it when Dan knocks on the door, muttering about CC reading his writing and getting him a recommendation. Then he sees Nate in the bed and is like oh look there's Nate Archibald and CC is like um no that's Dan Humphrey, then a lightbulb goes off and the old switcheroo is clear. Durr. Nate is kicked out and is soo over Yale. He calls Chuck and they agree to meet up at some bar off campus. He tells the secret society guys the plan is in motion. But, alas! He sends them after Dan instead, since Chuck is still mad at him for trying to exploit him and write about his life for Dan's benefit. Ah teenagers.
Serena gets a call about a party at the deans house that night, and Blair is furious she didn't get one. She subsequently bribes the dean's secretary and scores an invite. The girls show up at the party, Serena in a slutty tight dress and Blair in a high collared long sleeved one. Hmm. Apparently the dean likes to play this game where he asks everyone who they would like to have dinner with, living or dead. Chuck tells Serena what Blairs answer was and tells her to use it (he's still trying to get back at her). Serena tells Blair she plans on using her answer (stupidly) and fills out her form right in front of Blair, yeah like she's not going to pick up the paper and change her answer. I guess Serena really isn't that smart. The girls try to one up each other impressing stuffy old people until the game starts. The deans picks up Serena's paper and says her person is Peter something. Blair is all, oh that's the guy she killed. Too far Blair. Blair starts yelling out things and embarrassing herself and they take it outside. They start fighting and the best moment of the show comes when Serena goes "I hate this headband!" and rips it off Blairs head. Classic. They stop fighting and decide to just ignore each other from now on. Let's see how long that lasts.
The secret society dudes all head into the bar that Nate's at, talking about how the "taught Nate A a lesson." Real Nate is all, excuse me I'm NA. Then he pushes one guy down and runs away. Oooh tough. He finds Dan in his boxers tied to some statue in the middle of campus. He is unsuccessful at untying him, until College Chick comes by and saves the day and unties him.
Next day: Serena is wearing a really unflattering tight white sweater dress and white (?) tights, whilst Blair is wearing a married-lady hat and scarf. Odd outfit choices. They tell each other they were going to tell the dean the other one deserves to get in (aww) and decide to be friends again. That was fast. Serena gets a call from the dean basically telling her she's in and can they do a press release? Clearly the school wants her for her quasi-celebrity factor. She asks about Blair and the deans all, she can wait until spring. The girls are all drippy and blah blah whats mine is yours. Um they can go to different schools, but I guess now theyre best friends they have to stick together. Ah well lets see what happens.
Nate is mad at Chuck for sending the SS dudes after Dan, since he's actually a pretty cool guy, says Nate. He decides to take the train with his new boyfriend, I mean buddy, Dan instead of the car with Chuck. Oooh boy drama, not as interesting.
Oh, and Rufus decides to let Jenny be homeschooled for a semester after seeing Lily in Serena's hoe dress. That's right. Whatever.
And there you have the gangs trip to Yale! Hooking up, secret societies, bitch fights and Dan in his boxers! Pretty successful eh?
Next week there's something Blair vs. Vanessa drama (looks promising).

DVR overload

Due to the holidays I am behind on lots of tv. No heroes or prison break for the past 2 weeks. (Heard Heroes was bad anyway...) Good thing I have DVR, if only I had time to watch....

Mini recap:

Challenge: create an evening gown inspired by a flower at the NY Botanical Garden.

Kenley is still an annoying bitch, she leaves her tulle at Mood and the other designers (only 4 of them left!) refuse to give them theirs (ha) and she has to go back and get hers.

Leanne makes a light purple dress that is kinda cool from the front but messed up in the back with a random piece of dark purple as a train (?) The judges, including guest Georgina Chapman (of Marchesa) have a problem with this, but Heidi says in general its a pretty dress.

Korto makes an orange dress which is nice that its a different color but it looks kinda like a prom dress with lace in the back. Kors says its pageanty, although very well made.

Jerrel makes an interesting dress but it looks like its going to fall off the model and the shape is a little weird. The judges like it generally except for the fit at the top.

Kenley makes an ugly dress out of scaly pink fabric with leave-fin-y things on the bottom and mock turtleneck top. She raves about how much she loves it but the judges cut her down and call it creepy and cliche. Kenley gets an attitude with Heidi, who is not having it and Kenley is an asshole.

In the end, Jerrel wins (he and Leanne were in the top 2) and, shocker!, no one is eliminated. All 4 get to show at Bryant Park (even though we know actually the top 6 got to show).

This episode had a lot of tears, a lot of bitchiness and not very good designing, so hopefully they can all step it up next week for the finale (although you can see their lines online, and it looks like Leanne and Korto have the best).
I think I'm rooting for Leanne here.

Side note- why do all the models look so upset/pissed off in these photos? it looks like they really don't want to be wearing those dresses....

Yay! Mazal Tov Jim and Pam!

They finally got engaged,while the rest of the office was doing a weight loss challenge with Utica, to see who could lose the most pounds collectively. Scranton lost, but they did try. Kelly went on a weird cleansing diet and bought a tapeworm from Creed ("I'm gonna look amazing"), Stanley actually started eating better and exercising, and Andy fasted. Michael is still trying to impress Holly, who seems to be the female version of him, (they do a hilarious rap together after the weigh-in) and Andy and Angela are still engaged. Although Angela decided she couldn't resist Dwight's sexiness, and kept calling him a for booty calls in the warehouse. Unfortunately, Phyllis saw them and subsequently took over as head of the party planning committee (it's cutthroat there).
Pam heads to NYC for art school and Michael is reluctant to let her go. Once she's there she video chats with Jim at the office, and when Michael sees he brings her over to the new receptionist and starts talking about her in front of her face, then asks Pam to show her where the post-its are that he likes.
Ryan's back! He moved back to Scranton and is temping again, so Michael gets him a job as the receptionist. He's trying to make amends with everyone, so he goes around apologizing to everyone, including his nemesis Jim. Ryan is also making a list of people who wronged him for when he's "back on top". On the list: Jim. Ryan also apologizes to Kelly and asks her to go out with him, but she's like, I'm still dating Darryl (really?) and declines. Awesome. But she still looks like she's dying.
Pam is settling in at school and making friends, which is a little worrisome.
At the office, Michael decided to buy a sumo suit and wear it under his clothes and to I guess motivate people.
Jim and Pam decide to meet halfway between Scranton and NY for lunch, and its then, in the pouring rain that Jim decides to just get down and propose. It's kind of unexpected because he was just saying before how they had decided to wait until she was back from NY to get engaged cause she didn't want a long engagement (something to do with her past? Jim exlpains, haha).
Anyway, the crew ended up losing to Utica, but overall it was a good time. JAM are engaged, Ryan's back, Angela is still doing it with Dwight and Stanley lost like 4 pounds! Good day.

This week there's a blackout, blackmail, and whole bunch of drama.

Dan and Serena seem to be back together, but want to keep it on the dl even though they are making out in the street. And no one's taking pics of them or anything. creepy.
Nate the gigolo is shopping the cougar (KC) and he lets it slip where is dad is hiding out, big mistake. He goes to see Vanessa later and tells her he wants to make things work, but sorry he keeps cancelling on her and she's like its ok let hang out tomorrow and then Nate's all oh, i can't, i gotta...family stuff? and Vanessa is all forget it but Nate's like no we'll figure this out. It probably shouldn't be that difficult huh? Also Vanessa shouldn't be that annoying.
It seems Chuck is having trouble, ahem, getting things going, even though he has ladies coming in and out of his room all week. Serena tells him its probably because he's not over Blair, so Chuck decides he needs to sleep with her again to get past it, but Serena warns him not to use Blair as "sexual draino." Ha.
So Blair is throwing another party, this one seems to be a back-to-school thing, and parents are invited? Anyway, she tells Nate to bring Vanessa and the only way to get rid of cougar is to spend more time with V. Nate thinks she's being nice, but it turns out cougar told her to tell Nate to bring Vanessa.... Nate then leaves V a message that its probably better she doesn't come and she's all bummed and Rufus comes in and I was kinda hoping for a little something, but she just mopes and he tells her she should pretend to not have gotten his message and go to the party anyway. It's just weird to me getting advice on your love life from your friends dad. But that's just me.
At the party, Chucks comes over to Blair and starts whispering in her ear and caressing her etc and she's like ahh then he's like Have sex with me and she's all ew your gross and he's like then why are you still holding my hand? Fair point chuckster. She immediately drops it and runs away. Soon after all the lights in the city go out and the party turns dark. Dan and Serena were leaving her apt and get stuck in the elevator. They start fighting again and the long and short of it is they break up. Dan can't get over Serena's socialite-ness and I guess Serena can't get over Dan not getting over this. Whatever they were boring anyway.
Anway she's shows up there and sees Nate and cougar together and gets all wtf and Nate explains to her what's going on and V's all like um "I don't want a love triangle with you and someone's mom" Nice one Vanessa. Also, I agree with her. So she's like ok if you break up with her I'll wait for you, cause Nate said he wanted to be with her not Katherine.
Then Blair confronts cougar and is like I see what your doing, just want a hot young thing to sleep with and cougs like, he makes me alive, you know what that's like and do you think you have that Marcus? Blair then goes to the lord and is all meet me upstairs stat. Chuck hears this and follows her up. Awesomely he gets to use his real accent and starts making out with Blair.
Soon after the lights come on and the real Marcus comes up and sees them going at it. At first Blair is like oh I totally thought it was you, he had an accent. Then Marcus punches Chuck out and runs away, so Blair follows him and confesses he knew it was Chuck but wants Marcus instead and he goes I want you too so she tells him to show it and they start kissing in front of the whole party.
Nate goes to find Vanessa but she's leaving and says its for the best. We find out that cougar told Vanessa that if she doesn't leave Nate she's going to tell the FBI where his dad is. Oooh blackmail. So Vanessa and Nate are over for now, as is Dan and Serena (hopefully for good).
During all this, Jenny was at Eleanor's working through the blackout and they bonded after Jenny told her one of her dresses was hideous. Rufus comes in looking for J, with a date and they all laugh and get sandwhiches and hang out. Boring story line.
Anyway it seems next week Serena is back to her partying ways, so it should be fun!

GG: It's All Relative

GOSSIP GIRL
The show opens on Dan and Serena on the beach, presumably after doing it all night. They chat and kiss and Serena says she's not sure she wants to get back together right away. I thought she was the one that wanted to and he didn't? Who knows. Anyway she says they should meet up back in the city. Blair is still hanging out and riding old school bikes with Marcus, the lord. She really wants to meet his parents, who are in NY, but he's a little shifty and clearly doesn't want her to. Chuck spies them in a coffee shop and when Blair goes out to call Serena and fill her in on the secret identity business, Chuck slips in to talk to Marcus. He gets his home phone number and invites him to play squash (or cricket). So Serena and Dan end up both taking the jitney bus back to the city and apparently they are both irresistible to each other and end up having sex in the bus bathroom (gross) after she eats a chocolate covered strawberry. Seriously, that guy? Dan used to be cute in the beginning of this show, but he's so annoying that he really has fallen in the hotness scale.
Anyway, back to the episode. Nate finds out from his crazy mom that they might lose their house and all their money because of their dumbass dad. Nate freaks out and says he'll take care of it.
Later it seems that Chuck is going to be loaning them money, which Nate is NOT happy about. Boy's got his pride I guess.
Also, Chuck somehow gets a hold of the duchess, who shocker! is Katherine the cougar (or cougar and Nate fame). She says to him: this better be good, I don't usually take meetings with children. Yeah, you just bang them.
Ok so after Blair figures out that Marcus doesn't want her to meet his parents, she decides to throw a last minute party for her welcome back to the city. What the reason for this is, I'm not sure. I guess maybe to show she's sophisticated, by inviting elite ppl? Anyway, the party is a total snooze-fest, but Chuck shows up with KC (Katherine the Cougar) and introduces her to Blair as his friend and she makes a snide remark about too much botox, and KC responds, I;m the duchess. Oh snap. Nate spies his lover across the room and is like what and she's like huh back at him. Serena comes over and makes things worse by explaining that Blair and Nate are exes, and Nate and KC know each other from book club. Ha. Later KC texts Nate to meet her in the library, and Dan and Serena decide to screw (pun intended) their idea of keeping away from each other and start making out in the hallway and elevator.
Back in the library, Nate and KC start going at it, and Blair walks in on them. Apparently KC always scares away her stepson's potential girlfriends since none of them are good enough for him, but now Blair can blackmail her with her cougar ways, so she's all right in KC's book.
Oh while all this was going on, on the boring Rufus front, it turns out while he was away Vanessa renovated the cafe in his studio. Interesting, I heard rumors there might be a Rufus-Vanessa pairing, which would be disgusting, but also kind of entertaining, so we'll see. Anyway they are boring, but we find out that Vanessa is home-schooled (by who? don't her parents live in Vermont or something?) and that's why she doesn't do anything during the day.
So to recap the recap, Blair finds out about Nate and KC, Serena and Dan are doing it but are not officially back together, Vanessa is still annoying, and Chuck and Blair continue to sabatoge/make each other jealous until they (hopefully) get back together.

Best lines of the night:
Nate (to Katherine): If the best possible outcome of this situation is that I become Blair's father in law, I think it's time to move on.

Blair (about Katherine): I think she recognized herself in me, or rather I recognized someone in her. HA

Next week there's a blackout and scandal!!

The Hills: A Model for Whitney

This week on the Hills, crazy Kelly gets frisky, Spencer is still a douche, and Lauren dumps Doug.

Whitney heads off to NYC to help Kelly style some hot male models. One hottie in particular catches her fancy and she asks him what he's doing later and invites him for drinks with them. Turns out she was totally setting up him and Whitney since she conveniently cancels at the last minute when Whit and the dude are already together. He seems pretty into her and is nice so it works out.

Lauren decides things aren't going anywhere with cute but boring Doug, and she ends things with him. It seems she's still kinda hung up on Brody, since they have dinner together before and she's all giggly, especially when he mentions something about them being naked together. Are they doing it?

Stephanie goes over to Spencer to ask for forgiveness and brings him a book as a bribe. He is such an ass. He complains to Heidi about having to spend time with her sister and then in the middle of their meal proclaims its time to go to bed and cuddle? Wtf? Heidi just rolls her eyes and sighs, oh Spencer. Seriously? This guy?

Pretty uneventful episode, Lo and Audrina are absent so no drama there, Stephanie annoys me and Whitneys kind of growing on me. We shall see...

Oh So That Wasn't Your Head?

1. Prison Break-

Still not 100% what's going on in the show but Dr. Sara appears with her head intact (I guess contract disputes were settled?) It seems she escaped, and the head Lincoln glanced at in the box was some random head that coincidentally like Sara's.

Anyway, in the beginning of the ep, Michael had left Linc, LJ and annoying Sofia in Panama to avenge the "death" of Sara, and tracked down Whistler, Mahone and Gretchen. The company is still after them and the coveted bird book, which T-Bag still has. Bellick and Sucre escape Sona in a fire that burned it down and get picked up by Bellicks mom. Some fight scenes, chases etc, Whistler gets shot in the head (RIP) and Gretchen is shot off camera (meaning we'll most probably see her again). Will miss you Whist. Some dude has the mission of killing everyone remotely having to do with Whistler and Michael, and that includes Mahone's ex-wife and young son. He returns home to find the house surrounded by police and is told he does not want to see what's in there. Scary. Lincoln is attacked in Panama and ends up killing the dude trying to kill him, which seems like self-defense to me, but he gets arrested. Michael also gets arrested for I'm not sure what, and the bros meet again. The guy who played Pheobe's cop boyfriend who shot a bird in Friends is there as an agent whose sole mission it is to bring down the company. He makes a deal with the brothers that they are free to go if they can track down some memory card with all this info about the company on it. Since they have nothing else to lose, they are in. They get to get back their old buddies to help and the gang is back together again (minus t-bag, who is stuck in the desert). After learning that Sara is indeed alive, Michael finally tracks her down and it's kinda awkward but also sweet but it def seems like she was traumatized by all the torture from Gretchen.

So that's the mission for this season- track down the card (they got one and it turned out there are 6 more out there) and take down the company. I think.

Oh! and sadness- they remove Michael's tattoos!! With lots of lasers! Too bad, they were sexy (kind of, in a bad ass way, I guess?).

Gossip Girl Season Premier: Lords, Jerks and Hos.

Gossip Girl is finally returned! We sure missed those rich bitches. A lot happened so I will try to recall it all, in order or not.

Anyway, summer is winding down and most of the gang is in the Hamptons.

We see Nate is making out with some lady in a car and apparently him and Serena were "a couple" over the summer, to cover for his affair with the married lady.

Blair comes back from Europe with a new boytoy, and kisses him in front of Chuck to make him jealous. Sitting by the pool, B and S discuss James, B's guy but it's clear B is just using him. Chuck seems pissed off, which makes no sense since he's the one that ditched Blair in the first place. Whatevs we'll see how this plays out.

Back in the city, Jenny is at her internship with Eleanor Waldorf designs, where it seems she is treated as crappy as every other intern, but she has the balls to bring her own design to work and unsuccessfully tries to get some important head lady to wear it to the white party in the Hamptons.

Dan got an job working for an author but was supposed to write an essay as his assignment. He seems to have writers block, and the reason is his unresolved feelings for Serena. He also is seen making out with some hoe right before some other chick comes up to him all giggly and like our date! Apparently Dan has turned into a major player this summer.

However, due to the writers block thing, he decides to hightail it to the Hamptons and see her. Sounds like a great idea Danny, no drama will occur there.

Blair has convinced Serena to go out with a lifeguard and while they are in his camaro (um so lame), Nate comes crashing into them in his boxers. He was getting it on with the married lady when her husband, gasp, comes homes early. Riiight, no one will see him running down the street in his undies and not be suspicious.

Blair, her bf, Chuck, Eric and Grandma VDW are having lunch in the garden and Chuck is trying to show up the boytoy, James. Things get awkward when Chuck sees the heart on James's sleeve that B gave him and runs away. Blair runs after him and they have a chat. James's is pretty cute actually. Blair rips off the heart when she gets back and says it must have gotten caught on his sleeve by accident.

OK party time! Serena, wearing what looks like a wedding dress with awesome hair, is there with Nate, who wanted to scope out married lady's husband and make her jealous. Blair is there with James and Jenny is there with Eric, who she called up for the favor. Dan shows up at Serena's house and her grandma is apparently all nice and sweet now and tells Dan to go with her to the party. He arrives just in time to see Serena and Nate making out in front of ML and her hubby. Duh. He gets all huffy about it, but 5 seconds later both of his girls confront him and pour multi-colored drinks on his suit. Serena and him have a good laugh about their respective slutiness and make up/out.

James realizes Blair was just using him to make Chuck jealous and calls her out on it. She tries to apologize and calls him boring. He responds with the best line of the night..."actually, I'm British and a lord". Blair is all heey and he tells her he liked it that she was honest and they walk off hand in hand. That was a surprise, since it totally seemed like he was going to be all, actually I'm a waiter from the bad side of town and have no money but it was quite the opposite. Good one guys.

Chuck tearfully tells Blair right before she's supposed to leave with Lordy that he got scared and that she shouldn't leave with him because he doesn't want her to. She says all he needs to do is say he loves her and she won't. He can't get the words out and she gets in the car with the cute, rich, british lord (good choice, B). Apparently the guys in this show (Chuck and Dan) think they are the victims even though they are the ones that totally were the jerks to the girls (making out with other girls, abandoning them in Europe, both).

Serena and Dan meet up on the beach and its all romantic and crap and omg yay they are back together ahh most boring couple ever.

Nate's lovah leaves him a note to meet up in the city so she can be a dirty whore there too and Jenny turns down Tinsely Mortimer's offer to help her find a new internship and decides to stick with the bitchy lady at her old one. Her dress is kind of cute, but also kind of eh.

And there you have it! No sign of Vanessa (thank god) and minimal parental scenes.

Our gang is getting into all kinds of trouble and hopefully there will be less tears and more sex coming up!

Project Saturn, I Mean Runway

This week on PR, cross promotion and product placement! Oh and some clothing.

The designers get instructions to go to the roof of some building in midtown, and they stupidly think some celebrity is going to be there. Turns out its the lead color designer for Saturn (how many new colors could he possibly come up with?). The challenge is to make an outfit our of recycled car parts, which are stuffed into brand new, wait for it, Saturns!! The designers stuff their bags with seatbelts (obvi), mats, headlights, etc.

Back in the design room, everyone is scrambling around, throwing car parts around and weaving seat belts. Stella is confused but proclaims she is not going to make anything out of leatha or use studs, grommets or pyramids this time, and will make something pretty! Can't wait for that.

Korto, Leanne, Suede, and Blayne are all using seatbelts, and it seems kinda easy way out, but let's see. Kenley starts drawing zebra stripes on air filters, which looks interesting. Tim comes in and tells Ken that her model had to drop out of the competish (no explanation) and Ken starts freaking out and whining that her new model is flat (?). Keith starts complaining that his model sat down when he specifically told her not to and can't she follow a simple direction? Can;t you make a skirt that she can move in? Dumb.

Anyway, on the runway. Guest judges today are Laura Bennet from last season filling in for Nina and Rachel Zoe (what is wrong with her face?) Suede, Terri, Kenley, and Joe are safe. Stella, Blayne, and Keith are in the bottom.
Stella made a lace-up vest top thing and a straight seatbelt skirt. The skirt was interesting, but not made so well and the judges agreed that it didn't look like it matched the top.
Blayne also used seatbelts and made a long dress with, to quote Kors, a car-wash skirt (fringey). The top was too big and featured a design of broken glass.
Keith, who proclaimed to be making something tailored and structured to please the judges, made a boring top and skirt that was also badly made and fitted. It had like weird netting in the back and the top was busting open.

Korto, Leanne and Jerrel were the top. Korto made an nice swing coat out of seatbelts and RZ loved it so much ( I wanna own it, I wanna wear it, I wanna marry it, I wanna have its babies.)
Jerrel made a futuristic looking little dress out of grey suede and random car parts. Leanne made an awesome dress with seatbelts turned into ruffles on the top and huge side hips
.

She wins this challenge, rightfully so, and Keith is a huge baby and talks back to the judges and overall sucks so he gets the boot. He starts crying his eyes out in the interview which is sad but still, go home.

And that's it! Next week DVF is the guest and I can't wait!

Been awhile...

Basically Lauren and Lo had a party for Audrina and Lo got mad that Audrina wasn't doing anything to help them (at her own party) and was instead hanging out with her friends and confronted her and Audrina responded that she doesn't care about being friends with Lo (cause she's a bitch).
Lauren went out with this dude who she dated in high school, seemed like a boring date, whatever.
Heidi's sister came to visit and she didn't tell Spencer, who got mad cause him and Heidi just got back together and that the sister, Holly, woke him up at the crazy early hour of 12, and omg made him breakfast. (Spencer doesn't do anything! ever!)
Holly said she might move to LA and can she stay with Speidi? Spencer was like hell no we'll get you an apartment but Heidi was like nooo its my sister (take the apt Holly!) and there you have it. The Hills is back! I'm kinda over it..

Don't worry they gave her 50K as the top girl, which was sweet. The finale show was pretty good too, lots of dancing, including from Mary and Nigel, and a whole dance with past contestants (hi Neil! Anya! Benji! omg Neil is so cute). Also the Jonas Bros performed for some reason and then Joshua took the crown! yay!! Sad it's over though:(

Week 6! OMG ONE WEEK AWAY FROM THE WINNER?? wow that was fast. Cat is decked out in a sequiny number and some bouncy hair.
Guest judge this week is Adam Shenkman

First up is Mark and Courtney with a Viennese Waltz and Court calls Mark out for grabbing her boob during rehearsals. Like that really does anything for him...omg yes they are dancing to David Cook. Love the cross promotion of this show. Its kinda boring, but I guess good dancing? Adam loved it and Mary, in matching sparkyness also did and Nigel makes a reference to D Cook, and I like this shameless promoting of him.

Chelsie dances her solo and its the same ballroom leg movements she always does, but still its cool, she can really move.
Twitch is next with the same t-shirt, and this time he adds a gold grill. It's awesome, this is a really good solo. Cat then tries on Twitch's glasses and grill right out of his mouth and its amazing. I love her.

Katee and Joshua are back together again, doing a contemporary piece with Tyce. Ok again with Celine Dion? What's the deal (i love it). The stage is like bathed in dark blue light and it's cool, Katee's amazing. She does a crazy split jump into his arms and they just dance so well together. Adam says its the best dance Tyce has ever done, and reveals that the two of them met in the 90s doing the Oscars, and oh there's Paula Abdul. Her and Mary should totally get into a crazy-off, or maybe the world would explode if they were both judging together. Mary calls it phenomenal and beautiful and she sees both of them heading into the finale. Duh. Then she stands up and screams in Nigels face. Lucky dude that one.
Nigel starts blabbing about some really old lady choreogrpaher and how Josh has no classical training and hes amazing. True that.

Chelsie and Twitch are up, doing the Mambo (NOT Salsa) with Tony and Melanie. Chels is wearing a red backless dress and is twirling like crazy. the dance is really fast and its kinda hard to see if Twitch is doing good cause I'm only watching Chelsie. It was pretty hot I thought. Adam too says his eye went straight to Chelsie and shes amazing. T is out of his element and not as aggresive as could have been, but really strong. Ditto pretty much with Mary. Good job, v proud of Twitch. Nigel again compliments Chelsies dress and legs. Oh it's not the same without Nigel's creepiness.

Katee solo- to Maroon 5- great as usual.
Joshua solo- he does some awesome popping, a sick jump and completes it with some booty shaking- very versatile that one.

Mark and Court are doing a jazz routine with mohawked Sonya. It's got a burlesque theme and Court is wearing a green corset and fishnets. Its interesting and the music is cool with a good beat. Overall- pretty good, v entertaining.
Adam LOVED it and loves Sonya, who put a flower in her mohawk tonight. All the judges loved it.

Josh and Katees second dance is a paso doble. Woah Katee is wearing an insane outfit. It's like a long skirt and a bra strappy dominatrix top thing. Josh is shirtless with a sparkly belt. It's really dramatic and awesome. Adam loves it and I feel a Mary scream coming...ok there it is. And again. Nigel says Josh has a chance to steal the show and more screaming.

Courts solo is filled with twirls and its really good.
Mark is wearing a cut off t-shirt with no sides and then takes it off. He's kind of ripped, but his solo is not that good.

Chels and Twitch are doing hip-hop with NapTab with a conductor theme. Sounds cool. THe music and the dance is really entertaining, I liked it a lot
The judges again, love it. Nigel says whoever doesnt make it into the top 4 shouldnt feel bad cause it could easily be any of them, which I think is true. Very strong.

My prediction: going home is mark and chelsea.

PR: Farewell Short Shorts

Week 2 of project runway, and still none of the designers stand out so much at me. But we'll see...
The challenge this week to make a cocktail dress, which seems kind of lame. The twist is that they can only use 'green' fabrics (environmentally green, not the color as I originally though, which would have made it a little more interesting). The other twist is that the models get to go shopping and pick out the fabrics themselves.
Lots of skinny models run around mood apparently choosing all the same fabric, and also not really know how much to get. They kinda say ok cut it for me and lets go.
Back at the design room the designers kind of freak about the models lack of originality/taste and amount of fabric. Lots of mini dresses ensue. I see around 3 brown silky dress, 2 champagne colored ones and a few other colors thrown in. Stella is blabbing on about how much she loves leather and her 'urban' style. She's like 50, and has pigtails. Apparently she wants to make everything always out of leather. This leads to a funny scene where tanorexic Blayne starts making fun of her and she doesn't get it and he ends up saying "I love you leatherface" which was great, even though they are both annoying.
On the runway, the guest judge is Natalie Portman (who I saw last week!) cause she has her own line of Vegan shoes. And she's really cute.
The top 3 designers are Kenly, with a champagne silk straight dress with a giant collar, shockingly Stella, who used the same fabric but made a tight mini one-sleeved dress with lace up detail on the sleeves and side (fugly to me) and Suede, who made a crazy ribbon weaved top and little pouffy skirt, but its pretty cute and Natalie says she would definately wear it and Heidi would have to, if she was 10 years younger. Yeah like Heidi looks old, right. Anyway Suede is declared the winner and his prize is that his dress is going to be sold on bluefly.com.
The bottom three is Korto, who made a yellow tube dress that looks like the outside should be the inside and has weird fin things, Leanne, who used the shiny brown stuff to make a loopy dress with circles everywhere, and Wesley, who is so freaking cute, but made a fug dress with the same brown silk. According to Nina it was too short, too tight and not made well. Wesley gets auf'ed, and while his dress sucked, I wanted him to stay around a little longer cause he's so cute. And that's that. I thought there were dresses a lot nice and a lot worse than the ones the judges picked, but hey what can you do. I still want to know who the couple is...

So You Think You Can Act/ Dance Part 1

Cat comes out in a black mini dress with jewels and we start the show!
The guest judge today is Toni Basil (many award winner and working with Better Midler, among many other things, not really sure).

There are new partners again this week and the first couple us Will and Courtney, doing hip hop and samba.
First is samba with Jean-Marc, who yells a lot in rehearsal. Courtney is dressed in her finest big-bird couture in a yellow fringed (half) dress. Despite that it's a pretty hot dance. I think Courtney is getting better every week. Nigel says it was fantastic, when they weren't bothered by making the technique perfect. He says the chemistry was really good too. Mary starts screaming about Ashton Kutcher and punked and it doesn't really make sense, but it seems to like the dance. She says the technique wasn't that great, but the chemistry was there and Courtney wooooooo (that was a direct quote). Toni says it was really fun and she enjoyed it. I think she's going one of those judges that says nice things to everyone, which is kind of boring. But at least she's not Mia.

Next up is Comfort with her first solo. Oh they are bringing back the talking part of this show- the dancers talking about why they started dancing, snooze. Apparently Comfort got tricked into going to a performing arts school- so she has some experience with other dances. Her solo is kinda bouncy but with some crotch grabs, so its more hip hop i guess.

The next couple is Twitch and Katee with contemporary and broadway. Turns out they knew each other before the show, which I wonder how? Anyway their first dance is with Mia, who appears to be wearing a bandana under a hat, and why I have no idea. Katee is playing the role of Amy Winehouse it seems, and oh ok they start actually making out. Old friends, right. It's a cool dance, with some of it done on opposite sides of a door on stage and they throw each other around etc. It's more acting than dancing though. Nigel says its hard to critique the dancing because the performance was so great. Nigel also says he's been in that position with a woman banging on his dor to get in (it was Mary, apparently, who responds with a giant scream. Keep that ho on the other side of the door). This Mary-Nigel reparte is getting old, and weird. Mary does a horrible knock knock joke/scream and get her out of there. She loved it, no shit. Toni says she wishes it was her dancing, and they both got lucky dancing to that routine. Katee gets all the best routines it seems.

Will says he first started dancing because of Patrick Swayze in Dirty Dancing. We seem some cute old pics of Will and then we get to his working with Debbie Allen, woo this is boring. He's wearing a suit and James Brown wig and his solo is really weird- but apparently good, cause Cat starts bowing down to him.

Comfort and Mark are the next couple, and they are dancing hip hop. It has a school theme and is set to Fergie. They start dancing in their desks. They do a really cool thing where Comfort like flips over Mark. Comfort does some more crotch grabs, they're pretty good. Nigel says he was so surprised that Comfort dances better when choreographed than in her solos- she was amazing in this number he says, and that Mark was really good too. Mary loved it too and Toni says she takes classes from NapTab and she knows how hard it is. I'd like to see that.

Katee started dancing when she was 4.....blah don't talk just dance. She was a cute kid though. She's dancing to Celine Dion again and it seems kinda the same stuff, but still she's great.

Joshue and Chelsie are up next with Argentine Tango with sytycd alum Dmitri. Yeah he can't really speak english. Chels and Josh joke around a lot and it's cute. She's in blue fringes this time. It's pretty hot, and Chelsie's legs move around so fast and she swings around Josh a lot. I thought it was really cool. Nigel says the routine was really technical and Chelsie's legs are fantastic (how she used them). The chemistry worked and it was enjoyable. Mary said she couldn't understand what Dmitri was sayng (like me) but the dance worked and was believable.

Project Runway minicap

The first season kicks off at a new time (thank god for dvr or would have totally missed it).
The contestants seem to all be kinda edgy, there's too many right now to go through, but some that stand out:

Suede: he of the blue fauxhawk and penchant for referring to himself in the third season- I can see it getting real old real fast
Blayne: self proclaimed "tanorexic", also possible on drugs
Stella: "rocker" mom type, wearing red and white striped pants, who apparently designs for rockstars, pimps, hoes, really anyone that can handle her designs

Some boring girls
Jennifer Hudson look-a-like
The rest will come with time...
Anyway, the first challange was a homage to season 1, a supermarket challenge- make something fabulous with materials from gristedes. We see lots of running around, grabbing of table clothes and other boring cop-out materials, a couple of veggie grabs etc. Back at Parsons, we see again a lot of dresses made out of tableclothes, including a few of the same yellow one and checked one. Blayne is making something called "girlicious" and is either fabulous or a hot mess (I bet on the latter).
On to the runway! We see some plain dresses, a few interesting pieces, overall not bad, not blown away. Momentary sighting of Jaslene, but turns out to not be her.
The bottom three are Stella, who made a dress out of garbage bags that just draped around the model (after a dramatic "this fabric sucks!" meltdown), Blayne, whose diaper/dress is just weird, and Jerry, who made a white raincoat and bunchy dress (called serial-killer attire by the judges). The top 3 are Kellie, who made a really cool dress out of coffee filters that she put bleach and dye on to make an awesome pattern, Daniel, who made a cocktail dress out of blue plastic cups, and J-Hud 2, who made a bright yellow kimono with real vegetable trim. The winner is rightfully Kellie, and the first designer to be "aut" is Jerry.

We said goodbye to Thayne and Comfort (no surprise there) although Nigel wanted to get rid of 2 girls (Comfort and Jessica) but I would've fine without Jessica and Thayne, I guess that's why I'm not a judge though.

The bottom three couples were Comfort and Thayne, Jessica and Will, and Kherington and Twitch, kind of surprising, but not so much since they are good, but everyone else was much better, even Courtney and Gev, who just had better routines. Anyway, Will is always good at his solos, even though this one was a little weird and frenetic. Twitch did a cool mad conductor thing to some classical music, and Thayne just twirled around and did his lame modern dancing. He's definately not bad, he could probably be really good, but the other two dudes are just so much better, he didn't stand a chance.
Comfort did her hip-hop which was beginning to look a little tired anyway, and the other two girls did their own style= contemporary, and were all ok, not bad, not great.
Although I'm sad to see Comfort go, I think the judges made the right decision here. Next week they won't be able to decide, so I'm very curious who its going to be!

Also this week we got treated to 3 shirtless dudes dancing and Katy Perry (I kissed a girl) in a very short ugly yellow dress. We couldn't decide if she was lip-syching or just singing live really badly.

Overall, predictable results, can't wait for next week when the partners switch up!

A Little of Everything

This is the last week before everything is left to the voters, and the jidges have no say, so lets make this count!
Cat has some sexy beach hair and a grandma couch dress. Judges today are 80s dressed Mia and Mary, and Nigel.

Thriller?

Chelsea and Mark are up first with a salsa dance and the rehearsals are back to being a little longer. The dance is pretty hot despite Marks cut down to there jumpsuit and includes a cool move where Mark swings Chelsea back and forth through his legs. Nigel says that it was terrific although Mark should have loosened up his upper body a bit. He says Chelsea was tremendous and makes a creepy comment about her sexy cut-out dress. Gross he's old enough to be her dad. Mary says it worked for her despite some issues with Mark, but says Chels was phenomenal. Mia also hits on Chelsea and calls the routine smoking hot, but there's something awkward about Mark, but he's a star. Why is she wearing a top hat and giant sweater? Just wondering.

Comfort and Thayne are up next with a hip-hop dance. I smell disaster for Thayne. NapTab are doing this routine, and Comfort is so excited to do her own genre, she better kill it or you know they are the next to go. Thayne, just no. He can't really pull it off. It's kind of a slow number and I don't think realy shows off Comforts hip hop skills. Oh at one point Thayne like grabs her boob and they kind of dance on top of each other. I didn't love this, I wanted to sit a more exciting routine for Comfort. Nigel says that Comfort didn't relate to Thayne except for the beginning and the end. He didn't see what they added to the routine. Mary says they weren't connected even though she liked some of it. Comfort looks so sad, I feel bad she got two "vanilla" partners holding her back. Mia liked it a little more, but still said the connection was lacking. She defends Comfort but says she's losing her faith in her. Ditto for Thayne.

Ghetto Thayne... Not so much

Jessica and Will are up with a Tyce Diorio contemporary routine. Tyce says the piece is about the garden of Eden but there's no specific story. Jessica is pretty annoying. shut up and dance. OK shirtless Will is back. Ok and pantless. Theres lots of intertwinedness of their bodies but Im v distracted by Will's hot pants. It;s very interesting since theres like pretty much no music, and it's also kind of sexual, or erotic, as Nigel says creepily. Will was incredible, as Nigel says, and that its been difficult for Jessica to keep up with him, but she's doing it now. I think Jess is this season's come from behind dancer. Mary is all hot and bothered by it and calls it one of the most amazing pieces she's seen on the show. Mia tells a story about Tyce being at her house and the music and that it was amazing.

Is this a family show or r-rated??

Next up is Courtney and Gev with a cha-cha. WITH ANYA AND PASHA!!! Oh Pasha....

MISS YOU!!!

They are dancing to Rihanna and there;s flashing lights and gold sequins everywhere. Gevs shirt is also all the way open and the number was pretty hot. I really liked this one- sexy and they both danced really well. Nigel calls Courtney as sexy as Anya and Gev brilliant. Not technically great, and he compares his lip pursing to Mick Jagger. They do have a good connection too. Gev looks really pained when Nigel mentions them splitting up, aw unrequitting love.
Here comes a Mary scream! I knew when she paused to gather her breathe. She says it was hot, even though like Nige said, it wasn't technically perfect. ANd don't worry... there on the HOT TAMALE TRAIN. I think she just made Nigel deaf.
Mia says that is was fabulosity at its best. She is being really nice tonight. She also says they arent the best dancers on the show but the performance factor was great and Courtney is growing on her and improving every week.
And we learn that Gev shaved his chest for this routine and Courtney is really happy about it... ok good to know now enough.

Next is Kher and Twitch krumping to a L'il C routine. Kher looks really confused and L'il C kinda looks like Twitch with longer hair. Are they related? There's a lot of leather going on here which kind of looks uncomfortable to dance in. Kher seems to be holding her own and Twitch is pretty good. Nigel makes a constipated looking face and calls them 50 cent and Miley Cyrus, but in reality Kher did a great job and she had an honesty to it which was important. But he says the last 16 bars she lost it, the energy, the steps etc. Mary says this is the first time she believes in krump and it was fantastic. Mia says it was dirty and disgusting and stank and wtf does buck mean?? I guess she's being ironic cause she loved ti and says Twitch served gangster on a platter (ok). She says Kher was just as gross (wahoo) abut she got tired but still, awesome.

Joshua and Katee are next with a waltz, which are always really boring to me. Josh is supposed to be a ghost and Katee can feel him but not see him and there are a lot of lifts. They are dancing to Iris by the goo goo dolls. I like when they dance boring dances to more modern music, it makes it more interesting. They are perfectly in sync and its really nice and a lot cooler than I thought. Nigel says Josh was too bouncey and not as flowy as he should have but overall v good and Katee was beautiful. Mary says all the lifts were great but the execution wasn't that good. It was too choppy and needed to glide more, and as a whole it was just ok. Mia feels the same way about Josh, that it was kind of clumsy. She also says that Katee was meant to be a dancer and her journey is just beginning, oh tear Mia get it together.

Chelsea and Mark are up with their second dance, a broadway number with Tyce. He says its a sexy bluesy routine and Mark is wearing another low cut American Apparel v-neck. Chelsea looks really pretty and it is a pretty sexy dance. Marks suspenders kind of trip him up but overall its really good. Nigel calls it really hot and keeps talking about Chelsea's legs. Mary lets out some more yells and loves how committed Chelsea was when she manhandled Mark's head. Mia says it worked and was a success but showed Mark's lack of technique and training. What does she have against him, she's always ragging on him? She wanted to see more movement from Chelsea (what?) I just don't understand Mia's criticism sometimes.

Comfort and Thayne are doing a contemporary routine with Mandy Moore who says its a really difficult routine. I thought it was really good, they drag each other around and twist around each other and I liked it. Nigel obvi didn't, and said he thought he wished another couple should've danced it cause the choreography was so good. Whoah extra burn to them. Mary didn't think it was believable. I just think they would rip on them no matter what since they are clearly the worst couple, even though i don't think they were that bad. Mia also says the dance was great, but Comfort didn't have the technique and again connection wasn't there. We get it they aren't a good couple, what else can they do.

Jessica and Will are next with a quickstep (snooze, why even keep this style on the show?) Even Cat says its the most dreaded routine of the show. No pressure or anything. Will does some super fast flips to start off, and Jessica does a slow one. She is also wearing like a prairie dress. OK well the routine is as expected, boring but Will is way better than Jess, esp this move at the end with a kick spin and crawl across the floor to kiss Jessica on the cheek. Nigel thought the tricks and performance were fantastic, but the actual quicksteps part were meh. Mary says the same thing but also disses Will's ill-fitting jacket, which as we know, isn't his fault. Mia is sad because she thought Jessica got better, but she went back to her old sucky self and says Will looks tired of carrying her and that he needs a new partner. Woah diss to Jess. Will is so classy and is nice to Jess. I would really like to see him dancing with someone new but I don't think Jessica is that bad.

Courtney and Gev are up with a Mandy Moore jazz routine. They are 2 people lost in the jungle and there's a map as a prop. They are wearing safari outfits and its really cool with lifts and tricks from Gev. I liked it alot- very entertaining. Nigel says it was fun, but kind of cotton candy-ish with no substance. Mary says she doesn't feel the same way and it was rough and raw and tore it up (I agree with her). She is nuts though. Had to be said. She says it took a lot of strength to do some of those moves and it was pure entertainment. Mia says they had a great night and it was performed well and everything. She says they are one of her top couples of the night. I do like Gev alot, but I don't care for Courtney as much, although she was pretty good tonight.

Next is Kherington and Twitch with a smooth (read: boring) tango. Maybe not though, cause it seems to be a "fighting" tango. I think fight-dancing is cool, so I have hopes for this. It starts off like a normal tango, then they start the fighting part and it's ok, but not as dramatic as I thought. They both danced really well I thought, although it was a little too slow.
Nigel says it wasn't honest for him from Twitch and it was too uncomfortable for him. The steps weren't quite right and it wasn't as good as Twitch usually is. He says there was no passion from Kher. Mary says she loved the beginning and the end, but not the in between part. Mia says dance is powerful not so much bc of the steps but bc of the personality, and Twitchington weren't very committed in this dance. Do i smell bottom three shock for these two? Maybe that would be ok to get them to step it up a little, cause I still love them both.

Last is Josh and Katee doing a Bollywood routine (cool!), the first on this show. There are new choreographers teaching them the Indian style dance. This is a very cool idea to do this kind of dance, so I hope its good! It is very fast-paced and fun and I loved it! I think they did a great job and it was awesome. Nigel says its fantastic to see this dance and says it was similar to hip hop in certain parts, which I thought too. I think they should do more cultural dances on this show, they are so interesting. Katee does look really cool in that outfit. Mary says something about heart and soul that doesnt really make sense, but says they are stars and compliments their strength. They are back on the hot tamale train and the vindaloo express. Mia says Katee needs to dress like that every day, ha. It is awesome to have world dance on this show- more please!

Cat comes sauntering out in a mini tuxedo-ey dress and I think fake short hair.

Oh wow they are all dancing twice! So early in the season, this is gonna be a hella long show.

Judges tonight are Nap and Tab, Mary and of course, Nigel.

Ok I get it- shorter rehearsal footage- I dig it.

Jessica and Will are up first with the Jive. There's about 1 minute of rehearsal and then they start the dance. As usual I think Will is much better than Jess. There's a really cool like somersault that Jess does over Will, but overall it's just ok. It's not as good as Anya and Danny's jive from last season (miss ya!) Nap and Tab start off and it took a bit to get going but got better after the lift. Mary says there was a lot of missed connections, esp with Jess, but a good performance. Nigel liked the energy but again slams Jessica and calls her a little lazy.

New couple Comfort and Thayne are next with a broadway routine from a new choreogropher that kind of looks like Tyce. It was pretty cool, I think they are a good couple. N and T liked them together as did Mary, who says shes really proud of Comfort. Nigel compliments the choreography but says the passion wasn't there for him and that it wasn't good enough for him.

Kourtney and Matt are doing a Cicely and Olina hip hop routine. It's a slow one and Kourtni is wearng a long scarf that looks like is choking her. It's a little awkward I think but the routine is kinda cool. Kourtnis outfit/scarf is bothering me though. The judges all say it wasn't good enough and I kind of agree.

Chelsi and Mark are next with a Mandy Moore jazz routine. They are dancing to kiss kiss with is kind of a middle easterny sounding song so thats cool. Theres a lot of jumping around and its really fast It's really good, despite their weird half glove things. N and T love it and say they can tell a good story. Mary fakes us out but then screeches that she just loved it. that ws pretty convincing actually Mary, nice acting skills. Nigel calls them magic.

Kher and Twitch are doing the paso doble. K is wearing a jeweled bra and and theres lots of cape material swirling action. Ok Twitch is wearing leather pants. He also has a sick stomache. I think the dance is awesome. N and T say it was a slow build and Twitch didn't embrace his character until halfway through but when he did it was great. They didn't like the cape stuff. Mary says it was full of passion and she liked the beginning even the cape crap was so-so. She says the actual dancing was just ok but she was entertained. Nigel says Twitch's shoulders were too high and he says Kher had a mean face which was good.

Katee and Josh are doing a Mia Michaels routine. Katee's got her bangs up in a bouffant thing and Josh's got a do rag on and they are kind of just standing there for a while then looks like seizures. But once the dance gets going its pretty good. there's a lot of running, which is usual in a MM routine, and since I'm not the biggest MM fan, I don't love it. Katee looks like an anime character. Naptab love it and says they owned it and really praises their... walking. Mary also loved it

Courtney and Gev are doing hip hop and oh Gev has the same tshirt as me! cool. OK they are wearing Eli Manning jerseys which I have an issue with, but otherwise I like it, although it looks like Courtney is trying a little too hard to look ghetto. But pretty good.

Rest of the show I missed but here's a quick recap from what I did see:

Will and Jessica- lyrical jazz: AMAZING, my favorite of the show. I don't always love Jessica, but this routine was hot. I loved how Will flipped her using the shirt and then dragged her across the stage into his arms. V. sexy. The judges like it too, although Tab said Jessica had some "dead moments" but I disagree and think this was her best performance.

Twitch and Kher did some Mia routine jumping on a bed with flowers? First Twitch (shirtless, obvi) moves around on the bed and then Kher jumps up from behind. Its more Twitch than Kher, but its kinda cool. NapTab looved it, as did Mary, who gets all flustered by the sight of Twitch's abs, but ew she's like old and gross. I thought the dance was ok, nothing as great as the judges say. But then again I don't fall all over Mia like everyone else does.

Boring dances by Matt and Kourtni and Courtney and Gev and Comfort and Thayne. Mark and Chelsea do a foxtrot and Chelsea is wearing a blue feathered thing that kinda overwhelms her. Besides for that its really good, I think these two are so good together.

ELIMINATION SHOW:
1. Gev's solo was amazing
2. The popper who quit was sick
3. OneRepublic is way better on the cd than live
4. Kourtni and Matt get kicked off (no surprise there)

Last week we said goodbye to one of the Chelsea's and Chris (aka tree or vanilla). Comfort finally gets a new partner, Thayne, although I'm not sure it will be any better as him and Chris kinda were interchangeable to me. Anyway here's hoping this week is kick ass!

PS watched America's Best Dance Crew and I have to say I miss Shane Sparks!

This is Cat's attempt at dancing

After the opening routine, Cat introduces the dancers. There are lots of hotpants and a surprising amount of zebra print.
Ok Cat's wearing an interesting lace dress thing that kind of looks like an old wedding dress castoff. But apparently guest judge Adam Shankman really likes it. There's sparkly Mary (hair is back under control, as is cleavage) and Nigel.
They talk blah blah about how "tough" this season is and best year ever and waaahoooo (direct Mary quote).

So let's get right to it!

Twitchington is up next with a hip hop routine from Tab and Nap. They are wearing orange jumpsuits and hats and it's a cute fun routine. They mouth some of the words along to the song and it's really cute. Nigel fakes us out by not listing any bad things after he said he was and Mary screams her head off. Adam makes some suggestions- about stopping and starting and pacing.

I Can Seee You Nigel You Better Watch It

Courtney and Gev are up and Courtney says Gev looked like a girl as a kid and Gev gushes over Court being a teacher. This week they are doing the rhumba with Tony Meredith and his partner Melanie (from Pasha cha cha fame!). Gev is loving this cause he gets to be all over Court and actually has to grab her butt. It starts with C sliding down Gevs leg and ok Courtney is only wearing half a dress. It starts to get faster and better, oh then butt grab. Nigel really liked it and felt the connection between them (and as Cat says, so did Gev, ha). Dominic is back in the audience, hey! and this routine reminded Nige of Dom and Sabra's rhumba last year (which I think was better). Mary thought it was great too, ditto Adam, but he has suggestions for them too, which is good to have.

Comfort and Chris are up next with a jazz routine. We learn Chris eats everyone's food and Comfort was in beauty pageants as a child. They are working with Tyce, and its an "earthy routine". There are sheets involved. And sliding. They are dancing to Marilyn Manson and it's kind of weird and creepy, but cool. Nigel didn't really like it and thought Chris was too soft, and they didn't really sell it. Ditto Mary and Adam, who just didn't really buy it.

Jessica and Will are next with a Doriana Sanchez disco routine.
It's pretty good- I thought Will killed it and it was really fun. They messed up in a few parts, which Nigel calls them out on but he says they pulled it off anyway. Mary compliments their lifts and says she believed them.

Courtney and Matt are up with doing contemporary from a mohawked choreogapher who kind of looks like Sinead O'Connor. The dance is about comic book characters flirting with each other. It's a cute quirky dance, and I thought it was enjoyable. Nigel liked it but said Matt was a little stiff, but says it was great. Mary's buying what their selling and says it showcased their talent. Adam didn't like the outfit Courtney was wearing, but not her fault, and still good.

Chelsea and Thayne do a quickstep and I kind of forgot about it because it was boring, so there's not much to say.

Next are my favorites from last week, Chelsea and Mark, doing a Tab and Nap hip hop dance. The story is Mark is a workaholic and Chelsea (who look really cute in her sideways baseball hat), is trying to get him to stay with her. Despite the unfortunate outfit of shiny jean leggings and an unflattering vest/shirt combo CHelsea has on, it's really really good. The judges all love it and Adam does a funny imitation of Nigel last week and declares them to couple to beat.

Joshua and Katee close the show with a samba. Katee had a hard time in rehearsal because she doesn't think of herself as sexy. She actually looks really hot with her new bangs and is also only wearing half a dress. The dance is sexy and awesome. Katee and Josh kill it and the judges looove it. Mary screams her brains out and I think she liked it. Ditto Adam.

So You Think You Can Dance week 2! (sorry I missed recapping last week)

Last week we said goodbye to Rayven and Jamie, possibly due to the pantsing of Jamie and also maybe his shiny blue shirt.

Cat (in a hot black dress) introduces the judges and woah Mia bleached hair- improvement? (is this even new?)

This week the couples will fascinate us about what they like and hate most about each other, eh boring I might skip that part.

Chelsea and Thayne talking about each other and Thayne exhibits the first gayness moment of the night. This week they are doing jazz with Mandy Moore. Chels has insane muscles btw. It's like a king and queen theme and its a cool concept but I don't love the actual dancing, even though I like them a lot. Platinum Mia likes the concept but not so much the execution. Mary, looking crazy as ever with wild hair and a risky leopard dress, also didn't like it. Nigel didn't like their outfits (not their faults, as he says). They kick them off the tamale train.

Now Chelsea #2 and quirky Mark are up next doing a tango routine. Chelsie is a ballroom dancer, but says she doesn't know Argentine Tango. They have to smash their faces together and Chelsie looks really awkward and has trouble even looking at Mark . Chel seems a little hesitant with the sexiness, which is not good with this kind of dancing. Mark is much better at it and is more intense. I believe him more but its a pretty cool dance overall. Mia possibly has a crush on Cat, since she compliments her "getting down and dirty" to fix Chelsea's shoe, in kind of a hitting on way. She loves Chels and Mark and their dancing. Ditto Mary. And first Mary scream of the night. Nigel fakes them out by saying ewww but then yes he will continue the rant. But he says he would like to see more passion in Chelsie and I agree (he says it should've been more sleazy)

Jessica and Will are up next. Will seems like a really nice guy and he's cute. They are doing hip hop with Cicely and Olisa and there are chairs involved, so it looks promising. This a terrible song (what you like by Nicole Sherzinger). I like the dancing though, and Will is really good.

Mia praises the choreography but says Jessica wasn't as good Will and didn't believe her. Mary agrees and says Jessica wasn't quite there, but Will was awesome.

Now the giants, Courtney and Matt. Court looks so tall in her sparkly green dress and Matt's pants are very questionable. I'm sold more on him than her, but overall its not bad. The lift at the end is cool. Mia says it was great old hollywood glamour and says Matt is fantastic and Courtney doesn't own her size and strength yet. Mary says it was great but she doesn't like Matt's footwork and was a little disappointed with their technique. Nigel liked it but had some critique for them.

Next up is Courtney #2 and Gev. They are working with Mandy Moore. It's really good with cool lifts and they dance well together. Mia likes it and says Courtney needs more purity in her movement. She compliments Gev for being a good partner. Mary screeches that she loooved it and says the chemistry was great (well Gev did say he would tap that). Nigel liked them dancing together but didn't like the emotion and didn't believe it (I disagree).

Josh and Katee are up next doing a broadway routine. Josh is so cute talking about Katee and smiling so much. The dance is weird and crazy but they are both really good and I love Josh. Nigel flips out and starts shouting and dancing around and says thats what he's been waiting for- it's entertainment (um isn't it all). I'm not sure what he's talking about but apparently he liked it. Mary is so lame/annoying. Mia says more of the same.

Susie and Marquis are up next doing salsa, Susie's apparent forte. Woah nice striped pants Alex. Apparently he calls Susie a "street" salsa dancer and she gets pretty upset about it. That sounds so cool though. It's really fast and they are doing ok. The judges don't love it- they expected more from Susie.

Twitchington is up next. They have to do the Viennese Waltz and are not so thrilled about it.Jean Marc, the choreographer, tells us the song they are dancing to was is meaningful to him cause it has to do with his handicapped daughter. And it's Celine Dion (awesome) Twitch's shirt is open and they are dancing to Celine Dion. It's really nice and touching and I loved it. Mia gets technical and says that Kherington shouldn't have smiled the whole time (I didn't even notice that)- which Nigel disagrees with. Mary is crying and was touched by it she loved both of them.

Comfort and are Chris krumping! I'm excited for Comfy but I think Chris will suck it up. Comfy is good but Chris is all over the place I think, but not so bad. Mia says Chris pulled it off and that Comfort will be around for a while (I agree with that). Mary didn't love it- said Comfort could've hit it harder and started to lose it at the end (also agree). Nigel goes on a rant about how weak Chris was and how his granma is more gangster than him (shut up Nigel!)

Vegas auditions are here and we'll finally see the good people and cut it down to the top 20.

There are some surprises and some drama. It's SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE!

One of the early cuts is tiny Claire Calloway, who was on season 1 and got hurt then had to sit out season 2 to have a baby (she looks like shes 14 btw) but she apparently she forgot how to dance and totally falls apart and is cut.

Tyce Diorio Broadway routine:

First is a girl-girl partnership (I guess there's more girls than guys)- the girl playing the guy part is awesome and gets through, while the girl (Erica is cut and is shocked, since she cleared her schedule to be here and totally thought she would make it).

Lots of people get through, lots of Mary shrieks.

Twin bros Anthony and Antwone are not very good apart, and Anthony makes it through without Antwone. It's really sad cause they love each other, but its probably better so we don't get them confused.

Day 2:

Jean-Marc Genereaux is teaching the dancers the foxtrot. Hip-hoppers Joshua and Comfort (?) are having trouble with the foxtrot, its interesting that they are dancing together. SHe seems to be holding up ok, I'm not sure about him though. The judges really liked them and thought they did well for it not being their style- I like them and hope to see them do their hip hop thing. But stop crying and just dance.

Barbie girl Paige is up and is dancing with a hip hop dancer Will and does not look happy about it. They both aren't through yet, but arent cut. Some people we saw in the auditions are through, including Twitch from last year.

Paige dances with a ballroom dude and her and another girl get cut anyway. She references Jesus and whatever she was annoying. She sounds exactly like Legally Blond and this is probably the first time shes failed at anything.

Now it's group time. They will have to choose a cd randomly with music and are told to choreograph a dance by the morning.

Group 1 is dancing to Sting and then it stops and the tap dancing chick comes out and taps, which was good- but like Nigel said, the rest was a mess.

Other groups were bad too- I think in general they are all messes. It must be so hard when you have different styles and different ideas to put something together.

This group is pretty good actually- the dancing worked with the music (also Sting) this group includes Comfort.

Actually some of them weren't that bad.

Next crazy Mia choreographs a routine. She speaks in code apparently (zah boom bah ahh etc) and did I mention she's crazy. The dancers are running on no sleep and its affecting them. This one girl Liz apparently thinks shes working harder than everyone else even thought they are all doing the same thing. She does a pretty good job though. But then she starts talking and its really annoying, just shut up and dance! Debbie says it the best that she talked too much, and they cut her, basically cause she talked too much. Dummy.

Cocky Jeremiah is up next. Not so cocky now- he totally effs up the routine and walks off the stage. He has a tantrum and gets cut. He's weird and I'm not upset he's gone.

Dancing for lives! Dominic Pearson is up first, in tiny spandex shorts and he kind of lies down and waves his arm, hurt somehow. Debbie massages his leg (he only pulled a muscle) but he's out. Twitch is through, but Sheila, who the judges loved in the auditions, is cut.

Now its solo time for everyone, then the final cuts are made.

Kelly, HSM choreographer daughter is first. She doesn't make it but the judges tell her to come back next year. A modern dancer Courtney, Latin dancers Chelsea and Susie and another Chelsea and Courtney are in. Twin Anthony is cut but told to come back next year. Tap dancer Bianca is cut too. Hip Hopper Josh makes it and starts crying again. Debbie tells him to pull it together. You said it girl. A bunch of other people make it, including Twitch, Kherington, Comfort and more.

Next week the real dancing begins, I can't wait!

PS No cute guys this round (like Neil and Pasha from last year) ah well, hope the dancing is as good.

More auditions! Cat dances with the crowd! Mandy Moore! (not that one, the other one, the awesome choreographer).

Same deal as last week, lots of auditions, I'll talk about some... (concise!)

We some really good dancers, including a perky blond modern dancer who uses a Benji lookalike (one of two) as a partner, and break dance ice skater who dances likes he's on the ice, High School music alum and its choreographer's daughter, Kelly who was awesome, pierced up strip club dj Ryan, and Barbie pageant dancer.

There was Brett, who has Down Syndrome and a crush on Cat, which is really cute. He kind of does a combined dance and karate thing. He was really sweet and he just wanted to show that people with disabilities can live a normal life.

Random thought- choreographer Mandy kinda reminds of me of Dr. Hahn from Greys (awesome finale btw)

OK lots of married couples with lots of kids inc one guy who has SEVEN kids (and looks likes hes 20) and can't even remember all them.

Some really awful dancing going on, a headspill, awkward mom hip-hop, boring bootyshaking and more.

Next week is more auditions, then on to Vegas!

SYTYCD mini-recap.

First off, I have to say that this show is so far superior to American Idol in many ways. 1. The contestants that make it through are all actually really good. They have to be- they put them through intense choreography sessions and they make sure they can do other dance styles as well. You really can't succeed on this show if you have no training at all. 2. The judges know what they are talking about (or screaming about, ie Mary Murphy). Season 4 starts with auditions, and we see many familiar faces from auditions past (as well as previous seasons, hi Dominic!) I don't remember every person, so I'll go over some that stuck out (and make this post, ahem, concise).

First was Devin, who got the wrong music and kinda just stood there till the judges figured it out. But once they did and put the right stuff on, she was pretty good, and got a ticket to Vegas.
There was a ridiculous pop and locker who looked like he was completely made out of rubber. It was a little freaky, but really sick (in a good way). Also Mia is nuts, she thought he was an alien.
This blond chic did a modern dance routine that was pretty good, but she was smiling and looking ecstatic throughout and the judges loved that + her look, so she go through, and Dominic had a huge smile on his face through her routine, which was really cute.
There were some hot ballroom dancers, and lots of modern dancers.
Twitch from last season, who got cut right before the final rounds in Vegas, was back, and he really improved from last yr, so he got a pass to Vegas again.
One really interesting audition was done to a spoken word track, which was moving, but didn't showcase his abilities enough (so said the jidges) and Laura, a legally blind girl. She performed well, but the judges didn't think her technique was good enough and it would be too difficult for her to learn the choreography. She did move Crazy Mia to tears though.

Anyway I'll stop here and just say I'm so happy this show is back and will recap the whole season here!! Can't wait!Exactly I feel too, Mary.

AI Finale Part II

The finale is finally here and after a so-so season, we will find out which David will mostly likely cry and have to sing a lame song.

We start out dramatic again and then we go to reporting from the hometowns, where they picked the randomest former contestants to report (Mikayla Gordon and Matt Rodgers?). Anwyay....

Yes I love when they combine sytycd in AI. The idols and co are decked out in white outfits and are apparently paying homage to the swaying hands we've seen all season as thats their choreography. They sing Get Ready Here I Come. The dancing is awesome (from the sytycd'ers, not so much the idols)

D. Cook comes down the stairs singing Nickleback and Archie joins him and its kinda awkward and Cook is deffo better and stands out more. Archie does not know what hes singing. This is totally Cooks song.

OK now theres a plug for that Mike Myers movie about a guru? Random. The Davids go to a screening of the movie, which looks like Austin Powers in India? Now Mike/Guru is talking to the Davids. It's kind of funny, but also a waste of time. It's going on for a really long time .

Syesha is singing with a "special guest". She looks really pretty with wavy hair and oooh its Seal! He's pretty awesome, good job idol.

Next up is Jason singing Hallelujah again. All I can say is YAY. Oh I forgot how cute he is. wow he's really into it and its pretty good.

Cheesy music video time, can't be without one I guess. Oh its a combination of all them, or I think behind the scenes?

Now Ryan gives the Davids hybrid cars (is Archie old enough to drive?) Yes he does, as Ryan asks him.

Now its the girlies time singing some Donna Summer in a red outfits. Oh Amanda looks so uncomfortable. Kristy is back in her beloved rhinestones. Amanda kinda sounds like a man and its really awkward. Oh Carly I miss you, she's pretty rocking singing Hot Stuff.

Oh yes dancers. Now Donna herself comes out and apparently she has a new single, I guess called STAMP (she nicely spells it out for us) who knew? How old is she? She looks pretty good and is rocking a rhinestone studded microphone. Now she's doing some of her classics, like Last Dance and Syesha comes out and boogies next to her and sings (hey why does she get to sing with 2 guests?) Haha Amanda looks sooo pissed, its great.

Next up is Carly and Michael (!) singing The Letter. Carly looks hot in a studded mini dress. Michael is looking sharp in a tuxedo jacket with black t-shirt underneath. At least he's not wearing a scarf. They sound good together, I like this duet. Despite the fact that MJ is bobbing around a lot.

Jimmy Kimmel is back- ehhh, waste of time, he wasn't that funny. Crack about sanjaya, cut to him oh god i do not miss him. OK that wasn't so long.

Top 6 guys are singing Summer of 69. Oh I totally forgot about David H. MJ was awesome on the intro. Hey Chickeze. Now the 2 remaining Davids walk down the stairs slowly and the song turns into a ballad, Heaven. I think Archie sang this once? Ha he looks so little standing in between Jason and Cook. And Oh I get it, cause Bryan Adams is there! I don't think I've ever actually seen him. It's ok.

Cook is now singing with ZZ Top. Hmmm you would've thought they couldve got Our Lady Peace or one of his favorite alterna pop bands? I wouldn't think they'd be too hard to get. Oh well ZZ Top is crazy looking with all those beards and Cookie in the middle, its kinda funny. I don't really like this song though it's kinda boring. Lots of guitar playing, weird knee dancing.

Nash from Crosby Stills Nash and Young is singing with Brooke White (they couldn't get Carly Simon?) But this is cool- totally her style. Sad Jason lasted longer than her but didn't get a guest. I hope Brooke puts out an album, I like her style a lot.

Haha the Jonas Brothers now- Archie's bffs/classmates? But so much cooler looking than him, I mean the middle one is wearing a shiny silver suit with the sleeves rolled up. Arch could never pull that off.

Bad audition flashbacks. Oh best friends forever dude, that was dumb.

One Republic performing, I like them a lot. Archie is comes out and sings with them. I had thought it would be cool if someone sang this song on the show. Actually Little D sounds good singing this song. I dug that.

Jordin Sparks in the house, wearing a boxy shiny gold dress that is really unflattering. She's been looking good lately but this dress is uggo. Is this her song? It's kind of 90s-esque sounding. And aww cut to Blake in the audience mouthing the words with her. Cute.

It;s Ben Stiller, Jack Black and ? "auditioning" for Gladys Knight. Whose that last guy? Robert Downy Jr? Why? Weird.

Now its Carrie Underwood in white suit/wedding dress train thing thats connected at both sleeves? She's awesome but that outfit, no.

Oh cool song. The female idols are singing Faith, which I always wanted someone to sing on this show. Guys turn, all looking quite dapper in black suits. Is George Michael gonna come out now? Yup. I've figured out this show.

So this is it. Davids x2 are standing there in matching jeans, white shirts and black jackets. Last (pointless) words from the judges. Simon says he was wrong last night and should give Cook more credit and that he doesn't care who wins and will be happen with both. GO COOK!!!!

AI Finale Part 1

Um dramatic huh?

OMG this is lame. The whole ep is centered on a boxing theme or something with a voiceover commentator and graphics. Oh ALW is back, looking creepy as ever but still sounding hilarious. Also lending his advice/song choice is an old dude. Oh it's Clive Davis.

So Clive chooses I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For by U2 for David Cook and I think that's a great choice. I always wanted someone to sing U2 on this show. He starts slowed down and builds up like he usually does but I think it was awesome. Judges concur.

Archie sings Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me by Elton John, and yeah, I think this song was sung a couple (million) times on this show. According to Shera, the best was Clay Aiken. Come to think of it Archie is a little Clay-esque, musicwise. I could def see him on Broadway, or on the Disney Channel (like in high school musical 12 or something). Anyway the song is predictable- good but boring. Obvi the judges loved. I think they are just going to praise him no matter what, pimping him out.

Next is the new song, which means the lame song. This year they each get to pick from 10 songs. Just the titles show you how this is gonna go. Cooks song is called Dream Big and I don't have high hopes but it's actually not bad. Its a typical pop-rock sounding song, but I like the way its arranged and he sounds good. Judges don't love the song but like him.

Archies song is called My Time or something. Typical for him- slowish, big notes, hella lame. Judges freak out and say this round and the last goes to him (Shera and I strongly disagree).

Next round is contestants choice and Cook is singing a Collective Soul song that I didn't think I knew but once he started singing it I recognized it. It wasn't as dramatic or belt-y as Archie's stuff but I loved it. I thought it was a great song and Cook sang it really well and with real emotion, he actually started crying a little at the end and it was really touching. Randy says it was good, Paula, in her sparkly beaded dress gaving stood up for him but Simon thought it was the wrong song and he should've sung Hello or Billie Jean. Cooks counters that this season was a progression for him and he wanted to do something new. Agreed.

Arch sings Imagine, his pride and joy- the song that everyone went crazy over. Snooooze. I mean it;s good, but its old news and its not that exciting.

Bottom Line: for some reason the judges really want Little david to win and fawned over him like theres no tomorrow. We don't get it and are 100% rooting for D.Cook

Andrew and Spike are really sad that their bf (best friend/boyfriend?) Mark was kicked off.

Apparently this is the first time 4 women have made it that far. How many people are left? I guess not that many, I forgot.

Quickfire:

No guest, just judge Tom. No more immunity for winning a qf. Challenge: fork and spoon, two teams. Oh no Spike and Andrew are separated, sad day for them.

1st chall- relay race, which they did last year. Need to peel 5 oranges, do something to artichokes, clean some fish and make mayonaise. SICK. I hate fish and mayo. Nikki apparently doesnt know how to make mayo but is doing it (?). And go. Lisa is shaking like crazy but still going a lot faster than Ant, who'se being more careful, but hella slow.

Lisa finishes first and Spike turns artichokes (no idea what that means).

Andrew starts doing his thing to the artichokes and is speedy gonzales with it. Spike breaks his and falls behind. They finish like at the same exact time. EW THAT FISH IS HUGE AND GROSS. They are hacking it up and I'm totally grossed out. Dale and Rich finish witht he fish at the same time too. Mayo time, I actually don't know whats in mayo and its just like eggs and stuff, but I still hate it. Nikki is like oh this is so hard but Stephanie is killing it and finishes first. As Dale said earlier, why is Nikki still there? I dont know. Dale flips out and punches a locker. Ouch.

Elimination Challenge:

Pad says they aren't doing restaurant wars this year (um ok) and this year they are doing a wedding challenge. But like the point of this show is not to be a caterer, everyone wants to open a restaurant, so this seems kinda weird. Corey and JP are the couple, and they chefs have to cook for their restaurant (one team cooks for the brides taste and one for the groom). Richies team chooses the bride and the other team gets the guy. Total budget is $5000 and they have to work for the night. Andrew is like freaking out and have convulsions and possibly withdrawal and says something about having a boner.

Groom- likes Italian food and Nikki is probs like I should marry this dude and phew cause I can only do Italian food.

The bride likes pasta and pizza and Southern shit, and Richards like omg I'm from the South too. What are the odds. Also the groom has more sophisticated taste?

Debates about menu, too much to get into. Nikkis takes the lead for her team (Dale, Lisa and Spike) and instantly is at odds with Dale whose being really cranky and totally hates his team.

Other team is Ant, Steph, Andrew and Rich btw. They go to Restaurant Depot and load up these flat bed things. Verizon phone plug in Whole Foods, double plug.

Cooking time and there's a lot of food listed on the tv that i can't write down. Lots of meat (duh) and cake. Like giants hunks of meat. Nikkis being annoying and like doesn't know what to do when her team asks her questions and calls her ms italiano. Dale is so full of himself but doesn't even know what dish he made when Tommy asks him.

Dramatic music starts playing and Dale is like doing all this shit and apparently not doing it v well so Spike sees that and decides he wants to do one thing really well.

Nikki is doing pasta (shocker) cause that's all she can do. There's some controversy about ragu and Nik and Lis start talking shit about Dale, who's apparently "not a team player"

Everyone starts to go crazy in their own little way from lack of sleep.

Chef T calls Lisas cake ugly.

Steph transports her wedding cake in peices and they bring everything to the wedding whilst trying to stay awake.

Wedding time! judge top pastry chef is chicago. Game Time.

It's kinda weird that they serve pizza at a wedding as the appetizer but the bride likes em and so do the guests.

The bread that Dale made is really hard and no can eat it- too messy.

Dinnertime: It's a buffet for dinner, which also seems kinda weird. Ant says that Andrew is not allowed to talks to guests. ha. Nikki is still complaining- shut up. Also Dale. Yumm the brisket looks good and everyone likes it. Nikkis got like tinted purple glasses on that look ridiculous.

All the guests seem to like the brides buffett a lot better.

Stephanies cake looked really good and they like the grooms choco cake too.

The brides team won and the winner is Richard, who gives it to Stephanie fo making te cake and wins a $2000 gift certficate to crate and barrel and says she wants to shar it with Richie (awww sweetness).

Losing team goes in. Nikki says she wasn't the team leader, um what? The judges exchange glances, like obvi shes saying that because she doesn't want to get kicked off. Dale is like having a meltdown and Spike is encouraging him to let it all out and they start fighting and Spike calls him a little bitch. This is the dumbest fight.

And Nikki finally (rightfully) gets told to leave.

David C- 1st song, Hungry Like The Wolf by Duran Duran- nothing special, didn't really like his song choice. 2nd song- AWESOME. Baba O'Reilly. Made the beginning slow and built up to it and I thought it was great.

Jason- He def wants to leave. 1st song- Bob Marley, which got me really excited when he said that, but his song, I Shot the Sheriff, was eh. I didn't agree with Simon that it was atrocious, but it wasn't great. I wish he had sang One Love or No woman no cry and made them his own, but what can you do. 2nd song- Mr. Tambourine Man by Bob Dylan, again trying to do something different by singing Dylan but still not good. Oprahs personal chef is the guest judge, Art Smith, who is known for simple and healthy food.

There's lots of rice out...

the challenge is to create a fab entree is 15 mins and they have to use microwaveable brown rice.

And go! Mad dash to grab food and rice and everyone's running around while Nikki shouts behind alot for some reason.

There's seems to be a lack of taste testing, which could be trouble

Rich- tuna steak and tomatoes over rice, and Art loves it

Cooking time! Paddy comes in and sends all these kids in giant white chef hats to help the chefs. The kids pair off with the cheftestants and aww this looks so cute but possibly dangerous.

Lisa: chicken, and talks about her girlfriend, who has a kid. So that settles that, theres still some lesbian representation on the show. Pad wants to see more fresh veggies and says theres not so much flavor, they like her dessert though

Rich: ditto chicken and veggies (inc beets) the kids seem to like.

Ant: chicken stir fry with whole wheat noodles and judges like and say this is "real life for her"

Spike: pasta and carrot soup and his kid cuts himself almost immediately with a peeler. This is safe guys. His dish is popular bc kids love pasta and the judges like it too.

Mark: curry, which his kid has never hear of before, risky risky. Judges don't think theres enough protein

Nikki: Roasted chicked and mixed veggies all cooked in one pot. Art and Gail love it, and the kids too.

Dale: Turkey bratworst, sounds disgusting. Judges don't like the cabbage- too strong. omg his kid is so cute defending him.

Andrew: Chicken (what, no ones doing that) and ha says he used to be fat. Judges love.

Steph: Lots of stuff, but also chicken, and cous cous with peanut butterness. Judges don't like- not cooked well they say.

Pads calls Andrew, Nikki and Antonia in to the judges table as their favorites and the winner is Antonia, they looooved her dish, but she doesn't seem to get anything for it.

She sends in Lisa, Steph and Mark as the bottom 3. the judges didn't like Stephs combo of tomato and peanut butter (sounds gross) and Pads says she detested it- strong words! Mark says he thinks he's in the bottom cause Tom doesn't like him (or his food is bad?) they say he should've put in more veggies and Mark defends his vegetarian choice. The judges say Lisas dish was bland and underseasoned and she talks too much about it.

Aaaand Mark is out. Tom says he doesn't dislike him and wants to get a beer later. I will miss that crazy kiwi and his bubble baths.

It's hard to get excited for Neil Diamond night since I don't know any of his songs (except for Sweet Caroline, which apparently Carly was supposed to sing, tear) ALSO its so lame that they have to sing 2 ND songs- I do NOT have high hopes for this night

Brooke 2- playing the piano with a slower song. She even wrote the lyrics on her hands so she doesnt mess up (how can she see if she's playing the piano??) This is better but still kinda crappy. Randy says nice job, Paula says it worked and Simon says he hated the first song and liked this one (basically she can't do anything except sing slow songs at the piano). Cute dress Brooke.
Lindsay: Brooke's first song made me want to cry it was so awkward, but the second was she was defnitely back to the "good brooke"

David A sings America (which I bet Michael Johns wouldve sang this, I miss him). I know this song too actually( unfortunately). Archie is cheesier than a box of wacky mac but it gets him the votes i guess. Paula mumbles and slurs that she loves him and Simon says his song choice was clever (or the voters are retarded and only like people who sings songs about America)
Lindsay: David A needs to stop making me gag, first he ruined a classic B-town song, then he took a note from the Kritsy Lee Cook "how to win votes on AI" book, and sang the lamest song ever- ps notice how there was literally one line in the whole song- since he keeps forgetting his lyrics (which the judges conveniently NEVER mention) he wussed out and just went with a song that was just "coming to america" over and over and over11

Sayesha is singing a song called Thank The Lord for the Nighttime. Actually this is kinda cool, I'm just glad she's not singing a ballad again. It's kinda like a gospel song and I don't hate it.

It's Andrew Lloyd Webber night and I had really hoped someone would sing a song from Joseph, but alas I guess no one has the sophisticated taste in Broadway music that I do. Ha oh well.
Anyway first up is Sayesha in a really tight and slightly unsupportive red dress singing a song called One Rock and Roll Too Many. She was good, but very over the top and broadway-ish, which is good for the week I guess and shows that probably she should be on Broadway.
Judges all around like it.
Next up is Jason, in a white suit. He's singing Memory from Cats (my piano solo!) and he says he didn't even know it was sung by a cat.... ok. Anyway I liked it, it was kinda cheesy but his voice sounded good and it was sweet. Randy and Simon didn't like it, but Paula did (I agree with crazyface, weird).
Next is Little David, singing something I don't know. Anyway it's ok, not bad and little more upbeat than usual. Judges, predictibaly, loved it.
Brooke, looked really pretty in a long black and white dress, is singing a song from Evita called You Must Love Me. So she starts, and then forgets the words and says Sorry can we start again and starts again. UGhh that made me really uncomfortable and I couldn't concentrate on the rest of her performance, which wasn't even that great. She gives her stupid pouty faces when the judges start talking but surprisingly she keeps her mouth shut, probably bc she was so embarrassed.
Next is Carly, and she looks great in a short brown patterned dress. She sings Jesus Christ Superstar, which I've never seen, but I love her performance (I'll pretend I don't know who got kicked off bc it makes me mad). Anyway she has fun with it, it's upbeat and I thought she sounded great. The judges don't like it as much as they should, but say good things.
Closing the show again is Rocker David, and he's so awesome. He's singing music of the night from Phantom of the Opera and he actually does it straight and doesn't really change the arrangement. It shows his vocals, which sound really good and it's not the most exciting performance, but it shows how good he is at not just alternative rock stuff. The judges love it and thats the end of the show.

PS it was great watching it with Lindsay (my former co-recapper)! Miss you!

Elimination Show:
Fast forwarded most of it, but I watched Leona Lewis perform because she's amazing. Really, good discovery Simon.
Ok results- David x2 are safe, duh. Sayesha is in the bottom, JC and Brooke are safe (heh?) and Carly joins Sayesha in the bottom. Ok so here you're like OK obvi Sayesha is going home I mean Carly had the best performance last week, theyre just scaring her. But NOOOO CARLY GETS KICKED OFF. WTF she had the best performance of the night. I don't get it, but ah well that's how this season is going huh? Maybe she'll have a second album that won't fail...
Next week is Neil Diamond (puke).

Top Chef Improv

The show starts and Spike says the house is uglier cause pretty boy Ryan is gone (then he fake cries). Ha, so true.

Quickfire- Pastry time
cute guest judge is a "pastry icon" and alot of the cheftestants are freaking out cause they don't "do" desserts,or as Lisa says she swore to never do pastries. Oh well.

Spike is doing some kind of souffle in pineapple- a rum raisin souffle.
Richard- Banana scallops and guacamole
Jen- frozen banana bites
ANdrew- also banana and chocolate
Nikki- buttermilk cake
Dale- shaved ice and avocado
Lisa- yogurt and fruit puree
Mark- pavlovas with a weird fruit
Antonia- lemon cake

Least impressive: Antonia, Spike (although he gets points for trying the souffle), and Mark
Best: Dale, Lisa, and Richard and the winner is Richard (which I thought I remember seeing in the top chef cookbook, so it was kind of a spoiler)

The chefs get to an improv show at Second City, which is pretty cool. Everyones getting dressed up and there's some shots of Mark in his tighty whiteys and Richard in a pink shirt.
They are using this to set up the challenge by having the audience members shout out colors, emotions and ingredients. The chefs will have to cook those dishes for everyone the next night. The dishes are really random too.
Dividing the dishes up- Spike and Andrew immediately feel a connection and decide to work together. Jen and Steph get together, Dale and Richard, Mark and Nikki and Lisa and Antonia
Wholefoods shopping spree and haha Jen makes a menage trois joke thats a little weird. She's doing it for Zoi!
Richard is marinating the tofu in beef fat, which I think defeats the whole purpose of tofu, and I don't get why everysingle meal has to have meat in it, but ah well Richard thinks hes being clever so we'll see.
Spike and Andrew are doing a vanilla squash soup (vanilla,love, yellow is their words), and that sounds not bad.
Dale and Richard (perplexed green tofu) so they are making curry tofu thing. Dale goes into the back and finds there's no electrical equipment. Andrew starts hopping up and down saying dirty monkeys. So they are pureeing their squash with "love" instead of a blender.
Mark and nikki have purple depressed bacon (making pork tenderloin)
Jen and Steph- orange turned on asparagus, and making it sexual somehow
Antonia and Lisa- magenta drunk polish sausage (making some kinda fish sausage)
Tom comes in and tells them they have 20 mins to pack and up and go back to the house and finish cooking and serving there.
Back at the house they have 1 hour to finish everything
Nikki Winehouse is back in her interview.
Judges and Second-cityers arrive.
Spike and Andrew are up first with their vanilla squash soup. It goes over really well and the judges love it.
The turned on asparagus is next and Jen and Antonia give a cute little speech trying to show the sexualness of it and everyones laughing alot. It doesn't go over that well- too oily and too hard to eat.
Dale and Rich are next and explain that the tofu is perplexed cause it doesnt know if its meat or soy. umm yeah clever. It seems popular and everyone loves it.
Antonia and Lisa are next with their non-polish sausage and the diners are sad they don't get shots of tequila like the chefs. The judges think its weird that they served sea bass and not sausage.
Mark and Nikki are next with their purple depressed bacon dish. They made pork and grape sauce and sweet potato mash. Goes over well, Ted loves it and they say its comfort food for when you are depressed.
Dale, Richard, Andrew and Spike are called in front of the judges first as their favorites. The winning team is Dale and Richard. Wow those two are cleaning up in the competish and they get a crapload of kitchen stuff. They call in Antonia and Lisa and Stephanie and Jen as the bottom two. The judges rip A and L because they didn't use sausage. The issues with S and J was that the cheese was too much featured instead of the asparagus and the composition of the plate was a "trainwreck"
So the debate is which was a better dish or which one used the rules of the challenge better (or at all).
And Jen's out (haha) but at least now she can go back to Zoi and we'll only have one fauxhawked cheftestant.

So this week Rachel and I got to see some more Top Cheffers! We went to a q & a at Barnes and Noble, with Tom, Gail and Ted. Basically we are slowly making out way through meeting the entire show. Awesome

Show opens and aw Jen is sad bc the "love of her life" is gone and so she is now doing everything from now on for Zoi.

Lisa and Dale are talking after their fight last week where Dale turned gangster

So far lots of seafood and meat as usual. The guest is really quiet and straightfaced so it;s hard to know what she's thinking.

Jens goes over well, her islandy beer and dish.

Theyre going to a Bears game!! And tailgating! Two of my favorite things- football and tailgating yay!

Nikki, wearing giant aviators in the supermarket, wants to do sausage and peppers hero, which is something I have always wanted to try, it always smells so good walking by those stands.

Ryan is like I don't like sports I'm metro and too pretty for sports. LOL Ryan, pretty(ish) but dumb.

Drama with the coolers someone is yelling that there's no more room!

Back at the house, drinking some wine, relaxing, Dale is ironing his apron. Mark and Spike are taking a bubble bath together and the love is growing, Spike says he loves his curly hair and he's a cool dude.

At the Soldier Field- lots of Bears fans and grills around. Oh man I love tailgating it's so fun and there is such a good energy. The judges are all wearing personal jerseys, cute.

Spike- trying to show more personality and is failing haha. He made fire spiced chicken wings and pineapple slaw.

Ryan is going nuts trying to get everyone involved and calling people honey. He made bread salad with chicken and "adult" hot cocoa. Too fancy for some fans though

Andrew is wearing a helmet cause he's "in the game" He's so funny, and imitates Gail, but makes her laugh. I see a love connection there. He made shrimp that was good.

Nikki sounds really bored

Mark, on his real coal bbq had trouble with the grill. He made chicken and scallion skewers. He's a mess and people didn't love it.

Nikki is rocking a bouffant in her interviews and is worried cause she's out of peppers and onions before the judges get to taste it, that sucks. She should've saved some for them and didn;t make the sausages herself.

The Fridge loved Lisa and Dale's haha he's huge.

Gail Sayers liked Dales the best.

Antonia Dale and Stephanie go to the judges first- they were the top 3 fan favorites. The winner is Dale and they give him a top chef jersey and the grill he used, which he's excited about.

They ask to see Mark Nikki and Ryan. Nikki's was disconnected and not very careful.

Metro Ryan is next and says he wanted a whole dining experience. They think it was weird of him to make a poached pear as a dessert. Mark is called out for using the charcoal grill and putting a heavy sauce on his dish. They also diss is presentation and his table for being a mess and tasting the soup and using the same spoon (ew).

Aaand Ryan is out. Oh I definitely thought they were kick off Nikki or Mark, not Metro Ryan. He takes it well, still has a pen behind his ear btw, don't know why.

Mariah Carey week, heeeeey.

Up firs is David A- Sang Believe-nice job, nothing different, but good, predictable.

Next is Carly- Singing Can't Live. I thought she did good, I thought it was better than Simon did (he didn't like it). However I will always associate this song with Kelly C, who was amazing, so no one can really do better

3. Sayesha- sang Vanishing, a song I don't know. Same as always- good but boring. Randy says she did a good job (but couple pitchy moments). It looks like Sayesha has glitter in her fro? Simon says technically it was good, but she made a mistake singing a song no one knows.

Brooke sings Hero at the piano in a super sparkly dress. It's not bad, but it sounds like she's rushing the song and is really nervous. Randy likes it up until the bridge and Paula calls her out on some off notes. Simon says it was like a hamburger without the meat (?) I think she shouldve taken a song and totally changed it into soemthng different

KLC sings Forever, another song I don't know. Kinda country-ish, actually not bad. She's really taking this country thing seriously. I think I'm liking her more. Lots of shiny dresses tonight. Randy says eh, Paula says shes smart and she was blown away...ok crazyface. Simon didn't like it- says it was kind of whiny.

David C rocked it- it was different and awesome. And now he's crying and Ryan is holding his hand..awkward. But really, best of the night.

Jason closes the show (don't know the song) and I think it's really good- doesn't sound like a Mariah song and its mellow and cool. Randy didn't get it and thought it sounded like a luau. Paula loved it and wants to go that luau (me too). Simon agrees with Paula and liked it- said it was cool (like I said!)

Simon says the boys were way better tonight, which I totally agree with. Whatever the theme was Mariah Carey songs, obvi the girls would try to be llike her (and fail).

(This is where I got bored of writing/watching). The show was way too long (two and a half hours). There were some entertaining parts, and actually I missed Brad Pitt, so I may have to go back and watch that. Overall, eh. I hope they raised some good money though!

Eliminations:

Last year they didn't kick any off during the IGB extravaganza, so I'm hoping this year is the same. But oh was I wrong... Anyway, they sing some jesus/gospel song, ehhh. Next Ryan brings everyone out one by one and tell them, and the first five are safe (including Kristy). The bottom three is Carly, Michael and Sayesha. OK not bad, as long as Sayesha is sent home. NO. Ryan tells Say and Carly that they are safe, but doesnt specifically say MJ is going home, he says he has "the least amount of votes" then Ryan acts like REALLY douchey and mean and says : Last year we didn't eliminate anyone at this point in the competition, but tonight we are saying goodbye to Michael. WTF why make him think he is going to be safe and then tell him nope you suck. Also, he DOESN'T suck, but is WAY better than lame ass Sayesha and Kristy. SAD DAY. Ryan's an asshole and with that MJ's out and I'm sad to see him go (especially since he finally isn't wearing a scarf)

I Believe I Can Fly

What no one sang that song? So disappointed.

This week is the first of three nights of "Idol Gives Back" and the theme is inspirational songs.

First up is Michael Johns, who was awesome last week. He's still wearing a scarf around his neck, but tonight it looks... leopard print? Not sure, gonna ignore that. He's singing Sing by Aerosmith, since it contains the words sing until your dreams come true, and well I guess that makes sense for tonight. Its a great song, but hard to sing. He does ok in the beginning, but the high parts are a little weird, and he was WAY better last week. Judges agreed, expect Paula, who babbles how good he looks and sounds. Obviously drunk, gotta love Paula.

Next is Sayesha, who's singing Believe by Fantasia (puke). Do not sing a former idols lame ass song. Simple as that, and hopefully this will be the last of her, since she's boring and sings dumb songs.

Jason (Ani DeFranco?) is up next and he's singing Somewhere Over the Rainbow. Interesting song choice but I dig it, its nice. Judges loooveed it, surprisingly.

Next KLC, in yet another sparkly top. She sings a song by Martina McBride, and it;s not bad- not great though, actually i can barely remember it, so I guess that says it all.

David C is up singing Innocent by Our Lady Peace. I actually like this song- I used to listen to them in HS. He's not that great though, not as good as past weeks, and I don;t think I like his new goatee, its a little skeevy looking I think. Overall, again not bad, but not great. I think that's the theme of the night.

David A is singing Angels, by Robbie Williams. I also like this song and I think little Dave does a pretty good job, esp at the end and the judges love it too.

Carly singing The Show Must Go On by Queen. This show loves Queen, so many people have chosen to sing them. She's still wearing high-waisted mom jeans but her shirts kinda cool and her hair looks good. I think she does a good job, it was a kind of a weird song to sing. Judges didn't love it.

Brooke is up and sings You've Got A Friend, and makes weird hand motions whilst doing so. She's good, a little blah but still good, I liked it.

RealiT Show Reeecaps (aka who got kicked off whaat)

1. American Idol. Not gonna lie, I totally forgot this was on tonight- pretty much fast forwarded through most of it. Bottom three: Kristy, Ramiele and Brooke (nnoooo). Brooke is sent to safety first, leaving KLC and Rami in the bottom. I couldn't care less who gets the boot, I actually wished they'd do a double elimination and get rid of them both. No luck, but Ramiele (rightly) is sent home, and she cries a lot. Dolly Parton preformed a song about jesus that was kinda eh. She is so crazy looking though.

2. Top Chef- yay for dinner (thanks Rachel! sorry I didn't eat the salmon). Since I wasn't at home I couldn't write while I watched, so I'll try to remember what happened.
This weeks quickfire was to create a vegetable platter and demonstrate some kind of technique while doing so. It seemed some people just chopped some veggies and threw them on plate, while others tried cool things. The winner was Dale who made something with cucumbers asian-y and impressed the guest judge, Danielle Bouloud (sp?).
The elimination challenge was to create a course inspired by a (favorite) movie. Everyone was split into groups of two and assigned a course. One of the top two teams was Richard, Dale and Andrew (since Dale won the QF he got to pick what team to work with) who made salmon with tapioca pearl "caviar" and white chocolate sauce, inspired by Willy Wonka. V cute idea, sounds disgusting to me but the judges (who included film critic Roeper and actress Aisha Tyler (?) loved it. The other top team was Lisa (eyebrow pierce/possible lesbian) and Stephanie (who won last week), who made some kind of beef with caramel and apple sauce. Also sounds kinda sick, but judges liked. Winner was Richard, whose faux-hawk seems to be getting spiker each week (possibly to beat Jennifers, whose was looking a little low this week).
Bottom two was Antonia and Zoi, whose movie was the Spanish film Talk to Her and made rack of lamb with saffron rice and some other stuff i dont know/remember. They wanted their food to be really bright and vibrant, but alas it wasn't and they called out for that. The other bottom team was Spike (lame yellow hat lover) and Manuel, who made some Vietnamese spring rolls with swiss chard. Apparently Spike has been cooking Vietnamese food for the past 2 years, so he wanted to do that and they picked a random movie that relatied to that (good morning vietnam). It sucked. The judges ultimately kicked off Manuel for following Spike and not adding anything to the idea/dish.
Also in this episode: patchwork straw hat makes a comeback and we realize that Ryan, while cute, is a dumbass. Example 1: (talking about Mark) I don't understand him, he's from like New Zealand or New England or something. Example 2: His favorite movie is dumb and dumber. Case closed.

3. ANTM- I know I don't usually recap this show, but we're on reality shows this post so I'm throwing it in there. This week were down to 8 girls. I'll give a quick rundown on what's happened so far: Dominique looks like a transvestite and is really annoying, Lauren walks like lurch and has a bad temper, Claire has a baby she left at home , Fatima was really annoying in the beginning and started fights with everyone but now she's calmed down, Whitney is the plus size girl and also has a temper. Those are basically the girls that create the drama. This week the girls go on g0-sees (meeting designers to try and get booked)- this is way early in the season, since usually they do this when there;s like 4 ppl left, so idk why they are doing it now. Anyw000, bottom line: Stacy-Ann, whilst having a really annoying voice, would have gotten booked for the most jobs, Lauren is too ridiculously awkward, Fatima is a size 0 (!), Whitney probs wouldnt get runway jobs (she kinda let this get to her- it is unfortunate, cause she's a really good model), and Dominique is really full of herself.
The photo shoot this week I didn't really understand, they had to like jump on clear plastic with water on it and flail around while the photog took pics underneath them. Claire was being an ass and didn't what she was supposed to and sucked. Lauren's contacts came out and she also didn't know what to do. Whitney and Fati (ha) kicked ass. Kat got a new haircut that really looked good and according to Tyra and Paulina, took away her Eastern European mail order bride look (I didn't really get this but whatevs, shes so pretty). Claire and Lauren were the bottom two and Tyra decided to give awkward Lauren another chance. I'm really surprised Claire got eliminated this early, since she was soo strong in the beginning and was "cover girl of the week" three weeks in a row (and you know how telling that is). Anyway more drama next week, yay.

How The Hills Was Almost My Life

Interesting fact:
On this week's ep of The Hills, Whitney leaves her job at Teen Vogue, and in the course of 30 minutes gets an interview, a job offer and her first project. (In The Hills time every day is like a week to real life, as evidence by the Paris episode.) The job she takes is with fashion PR firm People's Revolution, owned by Kelly Cutrone. What does this have to do with me you ask? Well last May when I was a bright-eyed college graduate who first moved to NYC with all the possibilties in the world (ha sorry I couldn't resist), one of my first job interviews was WITH KELLY CUTRONE. I randomly found her e-mail address online and e-mailed her my resume, I figured what the hell (this is when i stupidly thought I wanted to work in fashion PR). To my surprise I got an e-mail back for an interview, and even though I had no idea what position it was for, I went. Turns out it was to be Kelly's personal assistant, so I met directly with her. After admitting I couldn't work on Fri nights- Sats she told me basicall I can't work in the fashion industry cause all the shows are on the weekends. There goes that. She is crazy I think, but was pretty nice to me, trying to make suggestion where I could apply.
So back to the show- Whitney went to NY for fashion week and she went to the office (in Soho) and they showed Kelly like yelling at her assistant and her looking really tired and stressed out and I can't be more happy that that is NOT my life. Just saying, Whitney was almost my co-worker.

Dolly World

American Idol

Ryan plays a lame April Fools joke on everyone. It's Dolly Parton night, and I try but I really can't get excited for it cause I don't know any of her songs. I'm not against country music, but I just don't know about this. I wish the theme was country in general instead of just Dolly songs.

Brooke- looks pretty as usual. compliments Paula's hair. Not bad, don't really like the song, but she sounds good

David C- gives props to all the people he covers. Weird song but he also sounded good- I'm a fan and I like his style.

Ramiele- better outfit, still weird though. She was better than last week, i didn't hate it. Or as Randy said, I'm not mad at her (I guess he gets mad at the contestants when they suck- as do i). simon thought it was forgettable and cruise-ship worthy. she looks kinda not excited to be there. Maybe she knows she isn't good enough.

Jason's up! And apparently he has a stalker. Singing Traveling Thru. I thought he sounded great and it was the perfect song for him. Upbeat but cool and I loved it. Simon didn't like it and I totally disagreed with him- I think this is one of Jason's best performances.

Next is Carly. She sounds really good, but this song is hella boring. Until end, which was great. Paula thinks it was glorious- which i disagree with, but it was pretty good. SNAP Simon disses Carly's wardrobe- I think his attention should be steered toward Ramiele's tragic attempts at looking trendy. I don't think there's anything wrong with the way Carly dresses (the red pants aren't my fave but i did like her dress last week). Yes! I had to rewind it but I finally caught a glimpse of face tattoo! Now thats hot.

David A is up singing Smoky Mountain Memories and Dolly looooves him, I bet she feels he's the grandson she never had. Suit jackets back, but the collars popped up! I mean it's good, but also kinda boring but he gets reeally into it towards the end and it gets better. Paula uses the word glorious again and Simon says it was on the money. Eh I'm not that convinced I still think he's trying a little too hard.

KLC is up. When i heard the song was called coat of many colors i thought it was the song from Joseph ( i wish) but apparently its not. There is an Andrew Lloyd Webber night coming, hope there;s a song from that show! Anyway KLC looks pretty and isn't bad, I like her dress. She seems kinda disconnected from the song though and overall pretty snooze-worthy.

Of course Sayesha is singing I Will Always Love You. Her hair is really weird. I mean it's not bad, but it can't really compare and I think the judges will call her out on it. Wow long note. Yeah Simon agrees with me- good, but not fantastic version of the song.

MJ closes the show and ooh he's wearing a suit, but with a weird scarf-y thing. He would look way better if he took it off. I think he sounds good- I like his voice and style. He's also standing kinda weird and crouchy, but I don't care bc i loved his performance.

TOP CHEF EP. 3

The show opens and Spike and Andrew are wrestling/fighting in their bedroom. Bff's! Maybe that means one of them is going home like our doomed buddies from last week.

Quickfire: Mexican twist- take on the taco. Erik, in a patchwork straw hat, says fine Mexican dining pisses him off- its more "for the street"

Spike, also sporting a lame hat, says he's keeping the taco "street". I don't know what this means. Ryan's kind of hot. Mark is as confused as I am about the street food aspect of it.

Manuel talks with a spanish accent trying to sound all authentic and I guess it works, Paddy and the guest judge seem to like it.

Lisa is screwed cause Rick can;t even bite her taco.

Erik's sounds really good and there's pomegranate in it.

Richard's tacos look cool and he actually eats one of his own tacos with the judges.

Rick didn't like Eriks- once again his food's presentation looks like crap, literally. Ryan's was also in the bottom because he has a peice of paper on his plate.

He liked Andrew's alot- taste and presentation. Also Richard's- tasted like "street" but looked classy. Um just what you want in a dish. He also liked Spike's- good flavor. Diss to Manuel, he looks pretty upset he couldn't pull out a decent taco.

They are in the middle of Chicago in a random neighborhood, who's having their annual block party and want the cheftestants to cater it for them. That's going to be a sick block party. They can't go shopping though, they have to basically steal the ingredients from the residents.

The red team sends "pretty boy" Ryan to the houses to make people feel better and hand over their groceries.

Sabotage! Don't go to that house, they says, umm there's nothing good there (tee hee).

I think the idea of doing classics is a better idea than upscale food- since as the Blue team said, it will be like 70 kids. And you know those kids are gonna be like ewww what's that and throw some tantrums if they don't get their hot dogs.

I'm not sure what paella is, but the Blue Team is making that and something called a "sexy drink" and velveeta mac and cheese.

whoa giant bowls of meeaat. Yum. the Red team is making sliders, corn dogs, sangria and salads- that def sounds like a block party menu, but who knows is Paddy is expecting something different or good stuff. Zoi is unhappy cause she's apparently being forced to make pasta salad and doesn;t think that will win it for her. Chef Tom comes in to bother the chefs while they are trying to cook. Oh the sexy drink actually sounds cool, but also kinda like a air freshner since it has lavendar on it.

Erik is making lobster corndogs, and that sounds nasty so I take back what I said before about good classics.

Nikki is having problems with her transporting her mac and cheese, which is essentially the problem she had last week with her mushrooms and you would think she would have learned to make sure her food would withstand the travel time. Some people never learn, because they are dumb.

Block party time! Setting up and the residents are kinda standing around looking a little nervous cause you know they want to pig out right now. Nik's mac and cheese dried out and looks like shit, so she's dumping on cream and butter. Healthy.

People start piling the food on their plates and Andrew explains the sliders as "mini burgers, filled with awesomeness." Very descriptive.

The judges eat the food in private, so the cheftestants don't know what they are thinking as theyre eating.

The patchwork straw hat is making the rounds, since Spike is now wearing it- I don't know why they think it's cool.

Panel time. Padma calls in the blue team first. Rick called Nikki's mac and cheese a brick and Tom says Richard's dish wasn't Paiella. They declare them the winner- surprisingly, since I thought the Red Team def was going to win adn the residents seemed to like their food a lot better. They seem shocked when Stephanie announces she won (for her fruit salad and cinnamon wonton).

Red Team goes before the judges and they are clearly shocked at the results. They call out Erik's corndogs for being soggy, ditto with the waldorf salad. Spike starts running his mouth adn Tom calls him out again and disses Zoi's pasta salad and that it was oily and flavorless. This must be killing her since she so didn't want to do it. Andrew says he is NOT going home because this is HIS house and they'd have to drag his ass out of there. I think Erik should get kicked off but it might be Zoi.

Decision time- and yes Erik is out! He had some pretty crappy dishes in the past weeks and this makes sense. Hugs all around and he's gone.

Ramiele- starts off a little slow, but gets into it and it seems like its going to be better, but its not. However- gotta comment on the shorts. High waisted and pleated. just, no. They make her look short (er) and stumpy and it's just not a good look.

Randy didn't like it- says she's sick but it still sucked. Ditto with Paula. Simon didn't think it was that bad and thinks she'll get through again (hopefully not)

Jason is up- and its his 21st birthday! He's adorably awkward as usual and I love it. Omg he and his bro are so cute. He s singing Sting's Fragile, back with the guitar. Pretty good, I wish he had sung a little louder. Randy liked it- nice and pleasant, but nothing special. Agreed. Paula says the same thing as Randy, as usual. Woah paula is wearing high leather fingerless gloves with diamond bracelets over them. Just pointing that out. Simon says it was clumsy and too laid back. Was that Callie from Greys Anatomy?

Up next is Sayesha, and she does the baby cry again, it kinda creeps me out actually. She's singing If I Were Your Woman- this sounds like an Alicia Keys song, but not as good. But she's not bad. Actually I think Alicia covered this? I feel like if she's going to just stand there and sing she should have a mic stand and not it- or maybe that's just what I would do. Randy LOVED it and calls is stellar and that he was shocked. Paula's eyes look sooo weird. She calls Say the dark horse to sail through. Simon doesn't agree about how good it is and says Sayesha vocals are limited.

Chikeze is singing a ballad, which is sure to be a snoozefest. Oh there go the arm swaying. Eh- its a no for me. Also for Randy- who says it was too old and boring. Wow I'm in sync with Randy tonight. Paula thought it was a good throwback and that he did a great job. Simon thinks he sang it well but it was cheesy.

Brooke is up and we see picture of totally blonde family including her mom who looks EXACTLY like her, and only like 10 years older. She's singing Every Breathe YOu Take . Oh sad she messed up, but gets back into it and it sounds good. I really like this song. She looks so pretty, her hair looks amazing. It could be a little better, but overall I like it. Randy didn't really like the arrangement. I agree it would've been better without the band at all and just her. Simon agree with me and Randy.

Michaels turn. He was born in 1978- the oldest of them all. Aww his parents are so cute. He's singing We Are the Champions by Queen. He loves Queen- I do too actually. Like last week it's a little disjointed but get ALOT better towards the end. WOW the crowd is loving it! i didn't like the beginning, but I thought the end was great. The judges love it- including Simon who says he saw star potential in MJ.

Carly (possibly preggers) is up and tells about being born in Dublin. Wow her mom also looks just like her and says she was named after Carly Simon. Total Eclipse of the Heart, yes. Oh wow she def looks preggo. Cool dress though. I like her performance alot. She's good at grrl pop rock. As Paula would say, its her niche. I don't think it was a weird song for her- I totally see how she would pick that and I think it fits her perfectly.

David A- tells us he might have to miss prom! all the little girls are like OH MY GOD TAKE ME! AAAWW is that his girlfriend, so cute! Or his sister? I don;t know. Oh there's crazy stage dad. Since DA was born like yesterday.. wait what song is this? It sounds kinda weird. I like his outfit much better this week- its young. I don't know this song and I'm not sure how I feel about it. I guess he sounds good though. Oh Paula snap, theyre asking what the f that song was? Simon didn't like it and riiips him apart. David is just smiling creepily and laughing.

KLC is next and her dad looks like Woody Harrelson. She's singing God Bless the USA. I feel like its a charity performance or somethings. It's not neccessarily bad, but just kinda weird.

Randy and Paula liked it. Simon thinks it was the most clever song choice and was brilliant- huh.

D.Cook is up and shows us cute pics of him as a baby. He's singing Billie Jean by Michael Jackson doing (i think) Chris Cornell's version. I'm a big fan- I like alternative rock and I think he;s good at it and knows what he likes. This sounds nothing like the original and its cool. His voice is raspy and awesome and I don't care if people think he's smug, he's good.

I mean Randy says he was really original, and while I agree its a little misleading cause he covered someone else's version and didn't make it up himself. Even so- it was amazing, as agrees Simon.

1. How I Met Your Mother: First time watching this show- but since Britney was guest starring on it I figured I might as well see how the trainwreck would fare. Plus Lindsay's always raving about the show. I don't think I will neccessary watch it again, but this ep was definately entertaining. Also guest starring on it, as a dermatologist, was Sarah Chalke (Elliot from Scrubs). She is so funny, I enjoyed the eopisode mostly becuase of her. Britney player her ditzy receptionist, and she did look good and was pretty decent acting as her character. All in all it was interesting to see her looking like that after all the negative press shes got for being a crazyface mess.

2. The Hills: It's back! Lauren and Whitney jetted off to Paris to help at some debutante ball for Teen Vogue (although I'm not really sure what T. Vogue had to do with it?). Anyway they get there and go pick up their ballgowns first (after chooseing to that over something they actually needed to do for their job- hey they come first eh?). They get gowns from Alberta Ferreti and go back to their hotel. The next day they go help at a photo shoot, and Lauren just kinda stands around while Whitney awkwardly asks the debutantes some questions. I don't think journalism is her strong point. Lauren gets a call from BF Audrina, who tells her that she saw Brody out at Les Deux last night and he was with a girl and kept calling her his gilfriend. What? Lauren and Whitney have been gone for TWO DAYS. Right before they left it seemeed like Brody and Lauren were like almost together and 2 days later he has a new gf? And Lauren was like oh everythings going to change after Paris- The ONE week they are there. It's like time moves slower in the Hills or something. Or Brody's a hoe. That's probably more like it. Anyway back in Pareee Lauren and Whitney meet up with some French band that I'm not exactly sure how they know. The scruffy guitarist tells his bandmates that Lauren's cute and spends the night staring at her. After they go to the eiffel tower and pop some champagne. During all this Whitney exclaims oooh its so pretty like 4 times and it's really annoying.
Oh while all this is happening Heidi is still in Colorado skiing with her mom and looking kinda cute in various puffy jackets. She has a heart to heart about Spence with her mom and the bottom line is she tells her to dump him and start over. Right on! Later on Spencer actually shows up at Heidi's parent's house and her dads like wtf are you doing here. He looks really shitty with his blonde scruff and I really wish the parents had just kicked him out. Heidi is NOT happy he is there and barely speaks with him.
Once again- Paris. The girls go out again with the French dudes, this time to a fancier place. Lauren only brought *gasp* pencil skirts (!) so she decides to SHORTEN HER COUTURE DRESS herself. This has bad idea written allll over it. Anwyay they go out, this time bringing along one the escorts and the french guy who likes Lauren looks really bummed out. iz that your new best friend? he askes Lauren and she's like um no. As L and W are leaving, French dude runs behind them and grabs Lauren, and then demands a keess goodbye. She awkwardly kisses him on both cheecks and the girls walk away. Back at the hotel Lauren is taking out the seam she put in the dress and all is looking well until she finds some nasty stains all over it? She freaks out and discovers her CURLING IRON is still on! Um fire hazard. She doesnt even turn it off and Whitney's all curling irons do that? Laurens like um duh its fabric it burned it. Idiot. Whitney calmly calls the guy at Alberta Ferreti and he agrees to give Lauren a new dress.
At the ball the girls are given jobs and its kinda boring. Lauren goes out with french dude on his vespa after and they drive around until he brings her home. No makeout or anything. boring.

In CO, Heidi and Spencer have about their relationship in front of her parents, and then again alone and Spence is like should we break up? and Heidis like i donnnt know. So basically they leave it the same as before and Heidi tells SPencer to leave her alone until she gets back. What about her job, doesnt she have to go back for that? Oh yeah, it's not real.

Whitney and Lauren are on their way back to LA, and Whitneys admits that its probably time for her to find a new (Real) job styling instead of wasting her time at Teen Vogue.
OK enough of this- next week- back in LA where Lauren meets BrHOEdy's new GF!

Last week we said goodbye to the Nimma and her purple sweatband. She was annoying and whiny, so I'm happy she's gone. The cheftestants are hanging out at the house, and we learn iin the workout room that Valerie and Stephanie used to work together in Chicago and hope to again...
Zoi (y) and Jennifer are switching around 2 pairs of the same shoes, why I have no idea. But I guess they need to show us that they really are a couple.

So Padma takes the gang to the farmers market and they have to make an entree with only 5 ingredients from the market. Jen's hairs looking less faux-hawky, I guess she got sick of getting confused with Richard, who's staying strong on the style. Marc runs around calling everyone mate. And he got someone else's food.
Back in the kitchen for the quickfire Padma introduces the guest judge, a molecular food scientist type person named Wylie, which is the same style as Richard, so this should be interesting.
I'm not go through everyone's dishes, there's too many. There seems to be a lot of dishes with peaches and meat, new trend? Sounds gross to me. Andrew messes up by using too many ingredients. Dumbass.
The winner is Marc- who made do with what he had and Wylie liked his sideburns so yay for him...

Elimination Challenge:
The knives they are drawing have wild animals on them, like Vulture, Bear, Lion, Penguin and Gorilla. And the chef-testants think stupidly at first that they are going to have cook these animals, but luckily the show wants to steer clear of protesters...
In turns out there was some forshadowing in the beginning, cause BFF's Valerie and Stefanie are paired together.
The challenge is that they are catering a staff party for a zoo and they have to base their dishes around the main food in their animals diets, which for the Vulture crew seems kinda nasty. But it turns out to be not as bad and that also Marc says has a similar diet to the vultures it turns out- rabbits and lamb. Yum.
Valerie looks a little like Rachel Dracht from SNL to me. That's my celeb lookalike for the week.
Team penguin is making, along with all fishy dishes, glaciers, which sounds interesting- or like sno-cones, which would be awesome too.
Woah Spike is wearing a bright pink head scarf.... ok.
Dale does not have faith in Nikki- the mushrooms look like crap piles and Nikkis trying to defend them but it doesnt look like theirs a whole lot you can do with them now.
Valerie's bellinis look like mini pancakes but the chips are "soggy as shit" haha. They don't go over so well due to the fact they were cooked so far in advance.
The 1 meatball per person goes over well, as does the mint lamb and edamame, which actually sounds good.
There's a squid dish that looks so sick ew I just do not like seafood.

They judges like Penguin and Vulture the best and after stuffing their faces with mini portions of everything, they head back to deliberate.
The winning chef is Idiot Andrew from the penguin team.

Worst dishes:
mushrooms- apparently they didn't taste them after they threw some cheese on top, which doesn't seem very smart to me. How could you serve something without tasting it?
Also bad: crab salad and belinis.
Antonia sells out Valerie and says she liked Stephanies better, even though she didn't even taste Vals.
And Valerie is out- her team had 2 bad dishes and I guess she made worse decisions. Bye Debbie Downer!

We're back and someone's going home! Last night was pretty craptastic, and I think the show has learned a lesson- don't do the SAME theme twice in a row- lame. First we are treated to very choreographed group number, which actually isn't that bad.
On to the results:
Brooke, who calls her own performance wierd, is safe, obvi. Next week she's def going back to the guitar folk ballad thing. S'ok, I dig it.
Next is MJ, who'se safe PS apparently there was a "scandal" where the clips they show at the end of the performance show is not from the actual show, but from the dress rehearsal, and some peeps, i.e Michael, were way better than the actual performance. Weird.
Huh? How is Carly in the bottom 3? Makes no sense to me but hey this show always has surprises....
Well no surprise there, KLC joins her.
Def the loudest screams were for David A.
Ramiele is up and she's...in the top 10! Eh? I was way off my predictions. She gets teary eyed but stumbles to her seat awkwardly.

This questions thing is dumb. I don't care... except Haha Simon wants to kiss Paula again! wooohoo awkward, Paula looks really flattered I guess she'll take it where she can get it.

MJ awkwardly laughs at his joke at himself and it;s pretty funny cause he just sits there cracking up and everyone;s like um I guess we should clap cause he's the only one laughing.

Well there's Kellie Pickler and her new... assets. I guess we know where her money went. At least she looks better than she did last time she was on the show.
Hahaha she's singing to Simon really close and he's just looking at her and smiling. its...cute. She's not bad I like her dress. At least this is better than last weeks snoozefest that was Kat McPhee.

This all sounds really familiar, all this stuff about the BEatles, doesn't it? Yeah that's because this week on AI its the EXACT SAME theme as last week. I'm not sure how I feel about this. On one hand eh boring, been there done that, move on! On the other, the Beatles have a lot of great songs and it will be interesting to see what people do now after last weeks comments. I'm leaning more toward bored with it, as I've been really wanting the contestants to sing more modern, current songs, but hopefully that's coming soon....
Lindsay: i actually don't have all that much to say other than it was overall a bad nightand re-doing the theme from last week was a terrible terrible idea

Amanda opens the show singing Back in the USSR. It's not bad, she sounds pretty good, but Simon is right- it's getting a little boring. I'd like to hear her sing something a little slower and see what she does. Hair is as big and two-toned as ever.

Kristy Lee is up. Wow the girl loves shiny clothes! Awww a picture of her dog- trying to get sympathy votes? This is boooring. Yeah you've been in the bottom two every week cause you aren't good! She's singing You've Got to Hide Your Love Away- which she never heard before. Ahhh why don;t these people know the Beatles?? It's so sad. KL is doing the country thang again, but its already sounding better than last week cause its not drowning in the music. That's a pretty plunging neckline, KL- trying to get votes from all angles huh? This isn't that good although it is better than last week and she isn't doing the crazy eyes as much. Randy says the song should've been more emotional, which I hear. Paula says she looks gorgeous- her way of saying shes pretty but the singing was eh. I wish she was as good as when she sang Amazing Grace, cause that was awesome. She proclaims she wants to Blow Simon...Out of his Socks. LOL, KL.
Lindsay: through her entire song i just sat there shaking my head saying "no" and willing it to stop. It took all I had in me not to hit FFand then when she told Simon she would Blow him... intentionally or not... I lost itand clearly EVERYONE picked up on what she accidentally saidso that was funnyand I hated that everyone found it necessary to defend themselves to the judges

Next up is puppy. I feel bad for him, I bet he was like Damn the Beatles again. I'm nervous for him. He's singing The Long and Winding Road. He obvi feels more comfortable with the slow songs- which is ok, but sometimes it makes him sound dated. The arm waving is distractingly stupid. Aaaand he's back! Go pup! Shot of David's abusive manager dad. I just think he looks awkward in suit jackets- I much prefer a younger looking outfit like the polo (s) he rocked at the elimination. Simon thought he was... amazing. Claps for him! wow. That was a lot of blond girls clapping for him. He still pretty awkward, the pupster.
Lindsay: David A bores me to tears. I wouldn't pay a dollar to see him concertand the lavish praise they keep throwing at him makes me want to pukehe is NOT that good

Mike's up, singing A Day in the Life. Ooh he looks nice in a black shirt and tie. I want him to belt it out, but it starts kinda slow. It's getting faster, slowly. Um he's not even singing, just saying aaaahhhahaha. This preformance is a little disjointed. I still like him and think he can do better. I thought it was kind of weird. Aww poor Mikey. Yeah I didn't it worked as a minute and a half either.
Lindsay: poor michael got wrecked by paula's stupidityI dont know what possessed her to tell the audience that he sounded amazing in rehearsals, it just proves that he sucks in front of a major audienceand then to point out the contestants are wearing earpieces so that must be why he sucked... then to find out he wasnt wearing one... I just cant believe what an idiot she made him look. Not to mention Paula...

Brooke's turn. Curly bangs are back! Cute dress. I wanted to see her hubby I bet he's really cute. I loved her last week. Oh she's singing Here Comes the Sun, I get the yellow dress now- she's really taking the lyrics to heart! It's not as good as Let it Be, she's really skinny and kinda an awkward dancer with some jerky, twisty moves. Still like her though. Aww her husband is cute. I want her hair (minus the bangs). I actaully kind of to just be her. Simon said HATED it and she's trying to take it well but she looks like she/s going to cry. Also stop talking.
Lindsay: I would've totally preferred to have had Brooke do Yesterday.
I was not so keen on the fact that she kept replying to the judges and saying its okay its okay over and over, like once was enoughbut she is so super niceand even though the performance aspect was "awkward" she sounded really goodand when she admitted that she is complelte awkward dancer I just couldnt help but want her to be my friend

David C is up. I also really like him last week so he'll probably suck this week, as the trend so far is going. He's looking a little better in his interviews. He's singing Daytripper, which I'm not so familar with. He's also wearing a tie over his t-shirt? This is ok- I like his voice, not so much the song. Woah wtf was that? Kinda cool. Oh it was a voicebox. Intttteresting... haha Simon did NOt like it either.
Lindsay: david cook i think his a great performer

That Irish chick is singing Blackbird, which Paula was babbling about before. This is kinda boring... also the theme of the song. I'm not such a fan of this performance, I liked last week much better. The end is way better. I missed the judges comments.
Lindsay is typing…i'm glad someone sang blackbird but I wish someone would have played it on guitar, cause that is a kick ass guitar song. but carly has an insane voicealso- I think she is preggers.

Jason is singing in French, Michelle. His shirt has denim accents. I think his voice sounds good- the song was a little weird though. I still have love for him though. Actually I watched it again after and I liked it much better the second time.
Lindsay: i actually liked himi think he couldve picked a better song, and maybe I am just blinded by the fact that I just like him and when his did that little floopy thing when he was doing the frnech thing...i loved it it was cool

Chickeze is trying to build off last week, but it doesnt go as well. He starts kinda sloww and boring and then busts out a harmonica (after telling us he doesnt know how to play) and it takes a weird country turn. He's not that bad, but it wasn;t that great either- I think he might be in the bottom 3 tomorrow.
Lindsay: chikezie started off slow and i immediately thought "oh great he is going back to the boring slow song thing" but then when it picked up i was more into it, he should definitely do more upbeat stuff if he sticks around, but the harmonica was a lame indulgent touch and his personality kinda irks me

In my opinion, Sayesha kills it. She sounds great and it's a really good version of the song. I'm not a huge fan of hers, but I def like her tonight and think she's safe.
Lindsay: Sayesha was good, but I am just not a fan of hers and could care less that this was probably her best performance

Ramiele closes the show.... wtf is she wearing. That outfit is AWFUL. It's like a corset over a t-shirt with kinda mom jeans. And a white fedora. Honey, no. Her sining wasn;t much better- it got a little better at the end but still. The judges hate it as well.

This is going to be a short re-cap since I know our AI ones are so long. Also I don't know much about cooking so I can't get too in-depth on the dishes etc. Padma Lakshi is back and the scar on her arm is as prominent as ever. I;m so curious where she got that.

So we meet the 15 new chefs, which include a guy named Spike, a lesbian couple, a Kiwi, and a guy that uses some kind of weird gas in cooking, among others I've forgotten what's interesting about them (if anything).

The first quickfire challenge brings them to a gigantic house in Chicago (where this season is taking place) and they meet former famous chef Rocco Dispirito. The challenge to create their own signature deep dish pizza, since duh its chicago. Didn't see that one coming. There are some classic delicious sounding ones and some nasty ass sounding pizzas, like one with peaches and other with pickled something (does it even matter, its pickled). Some of them don't even look like pizza, more like quiche or something. Anyway. The judges like New Zealander Marc, who bravely put Marmite in his pizza, because yes, he is from New Zealand. I used to have a roommate from Australia and she had some Marmite and that shit smelled disgusting, but they love it. Go figure. Padma and Rocco also surprisingly (to them and me) like the peachy pizza. They hated Nikkis white pizza and some other girl's one with prosciutto.

The winners of the challenge got to pick another chef to compete against in a cook-off of classic dishes. Among the choice were duck l'orange, eggs benedict, shrimp scampi and i guess the hardest one, souffle, which sounds kind of fun ot me, but i guess difficult. The chefs went to Whole Foods (where, Whole Foods) and got ingredients. There was some crisis with mayonnaise that I chose to ignore since I hate mayo, gross. There was also some kind of smoking device and failed flan.

Anyway bottom four was Nimma, the guy who made souffle, Marc (duck) and someone (i think named Brian) who has been cooking since the age of 11 (!) but didnt know what the chicken dish was (omg he breaded it) and is really cocky. Tonight: Dinner at Solo! Turns out Top Chef 3 winner Hung is the guest chef for March at Solo (yes, at a kosher restaurant!) Food was really good and its a nice place. We didn't get to take a pic with Hung, but did get to chat a little and learned they tricked him into cooking kosher (or so he claims). Too bad I can only buy bagels and ramen for awhile now....

OK so I was pretty off in my predictions, but things change. I'm not that upset about David H. leaving, I think he had potential, but he just wasn't good enough. The rest of the bottom three was Kristy and Sayesha, which I figured would happen. I thought Kristy would get kicked off, but Idol is always full of surprises. Katherine McPhee performed and I thought she looked a little weird but I couldn't really put my finger on why. She sang "Something" by the Beatles, which is a really great song, Kat was a little boring though. Top 12 went to the premier of Horton Hears a Who, really solid movie choice there. Fun for the whole family, from the littlest (David "Fetus" A) all the way to Michael "Sweats A Lot" Johns. So on to next week, I'm sticking by my original prediction and saying Kristy Lee is going to go home.

Beatle Mania

Ryan kicks off the show by introducing us to the new set, which is pretty futuristic looking with weird pod things and ridic flashing lights. The band is all spread out on the top, with each member in their own section. ummmkay, over the top much? Wooo top 12! I spy some crazy ass pants on our girl Amanda! They are all very color coordinated, and looking good. Intro about the Beatles. Please make good song choices, please make good song choices- this night has so much potential I'm a little nervous they're going to mess them up.

Sayesha is up first, giving us some background. She's singing Into My Life. I like her hair, its interesting. Her cardigans a little big, it just kinda looks a little sloppy. She sounds good, a little boring though. Her sweater is pissing me off.

Lindsay: Syesha- honestly do not remember what song she sang. I vaguely recall that she was okay but nothing spectacular, she is for sure in the running for not making the top 10 tour I think. I can't get overly critical or anythng with her because I honestly do not remember her performance that well...and that is probably her biggest problem. She wasn't horrible, but she didn't leave a lasting impression and when you are opening the 2hour show with 11 singers following you, you better make 'em remember you.

Chicky talks about feeling people up and looking their bags at LAX, haha. I think he's a likeable guy and I like his sweater vest. He is definately interesting. I don;t know if I loved his version, but the judges are right he did work it and made it his own, which i respect. Ryan looks like an idiot.

L: Chikezie, I thought, should have gone home last week. And apparently he thought so too, he flat out said so in the interview before he took the stage. But now I am so glad he stayed because all I could think during his performance was WOW. I had no opinion of him whatsoever until now. His lame-o preperformance package with the LAX stuff was stupid, but his really did something amazing with She's A Woman and, dare I say it, made it into a song that could totally be a hit today.

Ramiele was kinda boring, she's good, but a little snoooozy woozy. Her dress is cute though. Paula's eyes look weird- like one is more closed than the other. Her dad is cracking up while Simon is dissing Ramiele hardcore, sad day.

L:.... zzzzzzzzzzz............ oh sorry I fell asleep for a second. I like the song a lot, and it kind of had potential if she had done something other than just sing it straight. She has yet to do anything unique with any of the songs she has sung before. During her whole performance I did keep thinking "oh this is pretty" but jeeze man this is so boring. And her lips were way too shiny, like she poured a whole tube of lip gloss on and then added some glitter for good measure. I totally one hunred percent agrees with the judges obviously, she just did nothing for herself. Didn't sound bad, but didn't move me at all.

Yes, Jason is wearing a denim vest. Oh he's so cute. The guitar really works for him, even though there is a whole band available behind him. He just has a really pretty voice, even though he doesn't belt like some other people can. It wasn't the most exciting performance, but I'm still a big fan and hope he goes far.

L: Someone who defintely did move me was my perosnal favorite male, Jason Castro. I love that he consistently delivers a song with a folksy feel, very Jason Mraz/Josh Kelleyish. His song choices are always spot on and he is clearly showing off what type of CD he would put out, and I will go on record here and now and say that I would 100% buy it. I am so loving it. "If I fall" was such a perfect song, and the lyrics were sort of true to life but kind of in reverse, I think, cause like tons of girls are probably falling in love with him and swooning.

I know I am....

I'm really digging Carly's performance. She sounds really good and I like that she didn't change the song so much but still its different. Yeah yeah she's done this all before but whatever she rocks. I caught some glances of her hubby in the crowd but I didn't see his face tattoos??

L: Carly (How the hell did Simon forget her name, Idol has been pimping her almost as much as David A) sang one of my favorite beatles songs, and one of the first songs I learned to play on drums, so I was super psyched. I like what she did with it too, it was a cool song that I could see being on the radio today. It wasn't my favorite performance of the night but it was defnitely at the top, and it was definitely a great song choice. I also loved how she got so excited when Simon said it was a good choice.

David C- Good choice, singing Eleanor Rigby. He has such a good rock voice and knows how to make the songs sound modern. I love this, he's awesome. Simon- agreed.

L: David Cook probably had the best song choice on the guys side, and I also liked how he put his own spin on it, but I was not as crazy about it as the judges were. He is my #2 fave guy, and in my top 4 overall, but I wasn't blown away like I was last week. Although I think if he hadn't been so unbelievably amazing last week, I wouldv'e thought this performance was much better. I kind of missed the guitar, but I agree with him when he said he wanted to showcase the song for being such an awesome song and not take away from it. I think of all of the guys he is probably the smartest musically, really knows what he is doing out there.

Brooke looks so pretty! She's singing Let it Be and I think she has a really nice voice. I really liked her performance.

L: Brooke. Oh Brooke. My favorite of the night by a mile, and I my favorite for now to win it all. Like with Jason, I love the folksy touch, I love her raspyish voice, I love the raw emotion she puts out there with every song that she does. And hello, girl can play at least two instruments well. I also think she looked beautiful and she was totally rocking my latest favorite hairstyle, the low side-pony. Randy was waaaay of base telling her it wasn't her best performance, I think she has gotten better and better each week, and her performance this week is the only one of the entire competition so far (okay maybe Jason from last week too) that I would consider downloading from itunes.

Eh. David H. was ok. Not bad, not too good, not much to say about him. It was funny how he kept saying he used to work at a "pizza bistro" and you everyone was hearing "gay strip club"

L: David H. was just cheesy karaoke in my opinion. I don't have much to add on him other than that I totally agree with the judges- he tried to do too much and it backfired. First bad male performance of the night.

Amanda sings You Cant Do That and its pretty good- v different than everyone else which is always a good thing, but I'm just not sure how far she go, theres not much variety to her which is always a killer in this show.

L: Amanda was totally awesome. I think Simon just does not get rock music, she was not "slurring her words" at all, she just has a cool raspy growl of a voice, and she picked the perfect song and just rocked it out. I can't really see her moving past top 8 or 7, but I can think of 3 girls and 3 guys who I would like to see go home before her. I definitely have her in my top 6 but I don't know if the people who actually vote on this show feel the same way I do.

Kristy Lee's performance was awful. She tried to turn Eight Days a Week into a country song, but the music just did not fit and the song was just bad through and through. Plus she wearing a sequin tank top and ripped jeans- just everything didnt work.

L: Kristy Lee, poor poor girl. I feel for her, mainly because she took the judges advice and went all out country, but her problem in my opinion is that she does not really know music that well, because she thought it would work on a song like 8 days a week. Here is the thing- she picked probably one of the more popular, memorable beatles songs. If she had done a lesser known song, it may have been passable, but she ruined a great rock-esque song. I just feel bad because she thought she was doing what the judges wanted, and then even Paula flat out said she did not like it. I think that is the first time Paula has acknowledged not liking a performance, so you really know you sucked the big one when that happens. And she didn't really sound that bad, it wasn't good either but it wasnt that bad, but she killed a great song and that is her biggest problem. She is the front-runner to go home but there is a chance that the fact that she was so memorably bad could save her- cause at least we remember her performance, as opposed to Syesha who's rendition of I dont know what is a blurry memory.

Michael sings Across the Universe and obvi it has emotional meaning to him bc he;s practically in tears throughout. I thought it was really good- he has a good voice and this was a heartfelt performance and I felt it.

L: Michael Johns, I think, picked a totally beautiful song, and I think vocally it was his best performance. I think he sounded perfect, but the problem is exactly what the judges keep telling him every week and keep telling everyone all competition long- you have to do more than just sing karaoke. Michael has yet do change a song at all, and thankfully for him he has a good voice and he sang this song really well, but if he does not start standing out and deliver a truly memorable perfomance, he will go home earlier than expected. I think the only thing that is making him at all memorable at this point is that his is Australian. Sad but true.

Last up is Little David, singing We Can Work it Out. He said he didn't really know that many Beatles songs which is a little surprising to me but whatevs. Anyway it shows cause he TOTALLY messes up- forgets the lyrics (um easiest song ever to remember) and looks nervous and its just not a good performance. Obvi he;s not going home (I mean you never know but still) but the puppy is not looking like the winner anymore- which is good, it makes things more intersting.

L: And then there was David A. I hated his performance before he even took the stage, because anyone who openly admits to not knowing any Beatles songs is just shameful. Like Michael (I think it was Michael) said in his interview, every true musician will tell you that they have been inspired in some way by the beatles. So to come out and say that you're not a fan of "oldies" so you don't know any of these songs... WHAT????? I would never in a million years call anything written by Lennon/McCartney an Oldie, because those songs transcend time. Shame on you, fetus. Shame shame. And then to pick a Stevie Wonder beatles cover, and forget the words and not sound good at all? I think of everyone, Little David here deserves the boot. He was a complete wreck, and HE DOESN"T KNOW THE BEATLES????!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF. Go HOME.

Well I agree that he sucked it big time and it is sad that he doesn't know the Beatles, but lets give the tot another chance eh?

So tonight the top 12 was revealed and unfortunately I did not watch the whole show, I pretty much just ff-ed to see who got the boot. First to go is Kady, who should definately think about making a living being a Britney impersonator in Vegas. Girl can clean up. I am NOT sad to see her go. I speed past Ryan's attempt at drama and making the contestants who made it walk across the stage. Next to go is Luke, no surprise there. Wake me up when this is over. Fast forward... oooh Blake. This song is a little eh to me but he looks pretty cute. The last two girls standing are Asia'h and Kristy... and Asia'hs out. That's a little sad to me, I liked her. But I can see why people voted for Kristy, she is the only "country" singer in the girls. I think Asia'h is better than some people who are staying, but it was the Whitney song she couldnt deliver on that did her in. Boys again.... and Chickize is in! Daniella looks upset and she sings her little heart out, complete with head movements and all. I will miss his entertaining interviews and over-the-top acts, but he just isn't that good of a singer. Anyway thats it- top 12!! Here's my predictions (in order of whose going to get kicked off):

Tonight is the girls. I spy some interesting fashion choices, and by interesting I mean Lindsay and I both agree that AI needs a new stylist. Hey, I'm available- call me.

First up is Asia'h and as soon as she starts singing I think- uggggh so many people have sung that song on that show and its boooring. I'm a big fan of Asia'h but I wish she would pick better songs. And honey, those pants are not doing anyone any favors. Simon is right- don't try to do so much, sing what you can.

Kady go away. She should've gone home last week, no doubt. Oh this is painful. If you're gonna sing Queen there's so many better songs. It got better at the end but still, no.
Oh snap first Simon diss to Ryan.
Lindsay: Kady Malloy should pack her bags two weeks ago.

Amanda looks so much better with her hair back and not so much makeup. Oh this outfit is an improvement. Scarves are all the rage this season. Simon thought it was fantastic. He faked her out a little at first by saying "if I'm going to be honest..." I think Amanda looks cute tonight.

Carly is singing, in yet another pair of high waisted pants. I just don't get this trend. This song is good, I like her singing it. I'm surprised there's not a car driving in the background. Overall, pretty solid. Paula just called her a dog? Crazyface is back. I went to see her tattoo-ed husband again, but I think they banned him from the show- too scary for the kids?
Lindsay: What was up with Carly's hair? that combined with her horrible mom-pants made me want to close my eyes during her performance so that I would stop cringing and enjoy the awesome voice.

Kristy BoringLee Cook is up, singing Randys favorite Journey. No doubt we are going to get the phrase, I love Journey, I was in the band.....wait for it....at least Kristys outfit is better this week, but she still has a really red tongue- what's up with that? There we go.
Lindsay: go home. Girl creeps me out.

Little Ramiele, girl needs a new stylist. She looks like shes going to hang out at the mall after class. Did we mention she's little? and cute? no ok, well she is. As i've mentioned like 15 times already, she's good but pick a better song, one that hasnt been done before on this show.

Brooke White sings Love is A Battlefield, and she slows it down and puts a folky twist on it that I really enjoy- I like her style too- and Simon ( once again) is totally right in saying that he loved it because she made it her own. Paula, shockingly, makes no sense. What idol be if Paula was coherent? It just wouldn't be the same.
Lindsay: Brooke White is awesome. Love her and her amazing hair.

SaYESha sings *gasp* Whitney, and I shake my head in disappointment. She sounds good (agrees my roomate) but this song has been done and done. She also bothers me with her perky attitude- I just don;t buy it.

That's it for the ladies- I was way more impressed with the guys. My tops tonight are Brooke and Carly (same as last week) and I'm throwing Amanda back in the mix b/c i liked her tonight.

Boys Night Out

On another note: American Idol! Lindsay and I were pretty pleased with the guys last night, some of them really stepped it up. Paula was incoherent as usual, and Randy decided to bust out the ol shiny multicolored shirt. What was he thinking? I've forgotten the order so I'm just going to make it up. Rebecca: First is David Archulletta, aka puppy, Little David, fetus, etc. I'm going to call him puppy, although Lindsay would probably argue against that. His preformance was a little weird, I wasn't really digging his suit and he looked a little creepy to me. I'm still a fan, but I think his shtick can get old fast. Simon's right, puppy needs to lighten up a little and not sing songs that are too old for him.
Lindsay: I have finally figured out what creeps me out about him. The way he gasps for air between words/sentences and licks his lips every 5 seconds makes me insane. Also, his interview packages the past two weeks. Something we dont know about him: he sang for Kelly Clarkson and the rest of season 1 finalists and they thought he was amazing. Something embarrassing: He sang for a large crowd in Honduras on some charity mission and forgot the words or ran our of gas or whatever the embarrassing part was. Come on, we know you can sing. Regarding last nights performance...

Rebecca: Luke bores me to death. Although he looks like a cross between McDreamy and Orlando (McDrando?), that's not enough to make up for his lame song choices, and yes, Simon was right, a girly voice.
Lindsay: I wanted this lame-o gone in week 1. He has s-u-c-k-e-d it up every week so far, and the only thing he has going for him are is so-called "good looks." Probably one of the worst song choices in the history of American Idol, and I am not exaggerating at all. It's not a bad song in general, but it was just so cheesy and lame.

Rebecca: David H. sang while doing his striptease routine, just kidding, but that would have made it more interesting. He has a good voice, but the song was kinda lame.
Lindsay: David H. actually put a smile on my face when he performed. I hate Celine Dion, but this is one of those songs that for some reason I just love. I've never heard a guy's take on it, but it was actually really refreshing and he just has the most amazing voice and really picked an awesome song to showcase that. And I don't care if he was a stripper, the boy was poor and came from a broken home. You do what you can to get by.
Right. Lindsay wants to see those pics! C’mon Perez I’m counting on you to find them.

Next. Aussie Michael Johns, who revealed to us used to dress up like a kangroo and get beat on by the cool kids, sang Don't you forget about me, which was ok, or in the words of Randy "aiiight". couldn'ta said it better myself. I like looking and hearing him talk more than i like him singing, but i still want him in the top 12.
Lindsay: I think this was his best performance of the top 24.. I liked the song, it was actually the perfect song choice of the night overall because it totally encapsuled the 80's, at least for me, and brought back some memories of some of the best 80's movies that encorporated that song into their soundtracks. I am still waiting for him to blow me away, much like the judges, because it is very clear that he has the talent and the capability. It was also interesting that his story was about dressing like a kangaroo and then Paula commented on how he hopped around on stage (which he so totally does but it is seriously cute) and it just makes me love his Aussie-ness so much more. He shall here on be known as Kanga.

David Cook, rocked his way through a Lionel Richie song. I liked it- he can sing and he knows how to make things current, which is obvi needed in this competish. I still think he's a little weird and hate his hair but he should move on easily.
Lindsay: knocked it out of the park. I really love this guy. I think his quirkiness is cool, and I love that he plays a pretty mean guitar. His voice is probably my favorite of all the guys, i like its slight raspiness and it pretty much just mellows me out.

My favorite right now is definately Jason Castro. I think he' s so cute and I love his vibe. His take on Hallelujah (great song) was simple and affecting. He doesn't have the most powerful voice and I know he messed up on the last note, but I like that he doesn't try too hard and he doesn;t go over the top and he's different. If I had to choose any song from last night to waste money on, i mean buy on itunes, it would def. be Jason's. Just saying.
Lindsay: Jason C. has my vote. If I were one to call in and vote, that is. Like Simon, Hallelujah is one of my favorite songs so when I heard the first notes and recognized it, and immediately fell in love. I like that he took the judges advice and left the guitar at home, but it would have been such a great touch on that song and would have made the performance even better. My favorite part of his performance was how at the end when he went so totally off key and his voice cracked, he knew it and smiled sheepishly. This guy is awesome, plain and simple, and his shyness and surprise when he is complimented rubs me the right way, unlike someone else in this competition who will remain nameless. Your totally dissing on puppy, but its ok I’ll forgive you cause at least we agree on this dude. I also wish that I was on that date with him he talked about in the interview. Just throwing that out there.

Anyway on to Danny, or more appropriately, Daniella. He is funny, but more suited to a reality show or hosting some random VH1 show than singing on American idol. His facial expressions and head movements make his performance seem like a joke.
Lindsay: I seriously thought he was wearning high-heeled sneakers. I kept checking to make sure. I love his "spicyness" and yes his mmmmmmm comment to Ryan was f-ing hilarious, but his flaming homo drama queen act is only going to be entertaining for so long. He has a shot at the top 12 based on his personality, but thats pretty much it.

Jacuzzi closes the show with a another bore snore song. He also has a good voice but his song choices are a little eh. So my picks for elimination are Luke and Danny/Chickeze. Personally I would like to see Danny go before Chicky, although if he does stay he'll probs be voted off next week.
Lindsay: I wish he wouldve been kicked off week 1, but then he kind of rocked it last week. Well, this week he brought me right back to my original feeling of indifference. I don't dislike him, because he actually is talented and has a good voice, but he picks the most snooze worthy songs. It was sung pretty well, but it was so boring and forgettable.

Tonight is the girls, lets hope they don't suck it up like usual.
Lindsay: Out of 8, I'd say I loved 4, hated 3, and liked 1. Who do I think is going home... Luke for sure. If he doesn't, I call mutiny. Second goner is a toss up between Eze and Danny, although I personally think Danny has a better shot because he has so much personality that love him or hate him, you'll definitely remember him. And he has the votefortheworst contingency behind him.... I hope not!!

First off, I have to comment about the retirement about Brett Favre, one of the greatest QBs in the NFL. Now I am a die-hard Pats fan and I LOVE Tom Brady (but that's a topic for another time- one I will definately get into detail about!), but I have to say that I will miss Favre. He seems like a genuinely nice guy, a hardworker and and an all-around great player. I really feel for the people of Green Bay. I've never been there, but for all I've read, for many of them, their world revolves around the Pack and Favre. He was with them for 17 years! It's one of those things that just seemed like it would never end. Plus he had one of the best seasons of his career last year. The fans probably don't know what to do with themselves. The Favre era Packers didn't win as many championships, but he was the heart and soul of that team and he will definately be missed, not just by the people of Wisoncsin, but by all football fans. It's hard not to like Favre, especially when he showed his comedic abilities in Something About Mary! Anyway, just wanted to share those thoughts and that I do think its time he retired and moved on, but he will be missed!
